Bottle picked up from Dranken Geers, Oostakker nr Ghent, Belgium and consumed at Camping Seespitz, Walchsee, Austria whilst listening to Marc Riley, 6 Music with Brix and the Extricated in session and after a very nice Moussaka, Thursday 15th August 2019. Fresh and zippy nose, softened by a little wet woodiness, some tangy chocolate. Dirty brown in colour with an off white head. Great beer.

Bottle from Daniëls, Tongeren. Hazy golden colour, white foam. Sweet malty, light banana, some straw. Bit unbalanced.

Many thanks to kappldav123 for sharing. Smooth mild grainy beginning. Easy to drink, caramel, grain. Dry, moderate bitter, smooth mild with lots of malt.

Bottle. Color: Ruby, beige head. Aroma: Dark malt, caramel, brown sugar. Taste: Dark malt, caramel notes, toast. Hints of brown sugar. Medium sweet, light to moderate bitter. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Malty finish. Ok but nothing special.

Huge thanks to JefVerstraete for that one! Bottle looks very simple. Beer in the glass light golden, small head. Dry malty aroma. Starts fine malty, dry, a bit spicy. Some soapy notes with a bitter background. Finish well balanced, dry bitter aftertaste. Not bad.

Bottle [thanks to Inoven] @ home. Dark brown color, full sized beige head that lasts for quite a while. Smell and taste malts, dark malts, raisins a bit, lightly some spices in the distance. Medium to full body and medium to firm carbonation. Ok.

En voyant cette robe brun foncé dans mon verre et cette mousse brune de 5 mm, je me suis dit, enfin une bonne bière de Noël pour cette session 2018 ! Mon entrain retomba malheureusement vite avec un nez relativement insipide, sur le malt grillé avec caramel, un léger chocolat, et une pointe d’alcool et de réglisse. La dégustation vint clore mes illusions…une bière plate, sans inspiration et sans esprit de Noël. Pourquoi tant d’acharnement à vouloir me faire rater mon Noël ?!!! L’attaque, sur une fraîche amertume est peu aromatique. Elle laisse place à une seconde bouche plus douce sur le caramel, chocolat et du poivre. L’ensemble a peu d’intérêt et en plus, l’effervescence, trop poussée est quelque peu déstabilisante. L’arrière bouche, linéaire, n’apporte rien du tout… Le final d’une longueur moyenne mais correcte (tout comme la présence en bouche) laisse ressortir légèrement l’alcool et de faibles notes de réglisses. L’équilibre global n’est quant à lui pas mauvais avec un alcool à 8,5 % acceptable. Mais que cette bière est ennuyeuse…

Opaque amber brown colour, small creamy beige head, half-way lasting, good retention, light lacing. Aroma roasted malts, caramel, butterscotch, some maple syrup, hints of Bourbon, woody notes. Taste light heavy sweet and slightly bitter, roasted malts, caramel, maple syrup, woody notes. Caramellish sweet and light bitter aftertaste, some roast, bastard sugar, light bourbon touch in the finish, medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Very good and well-balanced dubbel, not overly sweet, bourbon and wood are present but in the background which is good.
