Established in 2017
Founded by partners in life and work, Charles Porter and Brenda Crow, Little Beast is a family brewery with a passion for making great beer and sharing it with others.
We craft wild, wood-aged and blended beer naturally with diverse cultures, including Saccharomyces, Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, and wild flora. By harnessing the little beasts that ferment our beer, we capture their untamed beauty and produce farmhouse beers that are diverse in flavor and rare in character.

On tap at The Beer Mongers. Pours pale yellow with a white head. Aroma has spicy saison yeast and coriander. Flavour is dry with notes of dry saison yeast and coriander. Weird combination of flavours.

On tap at Little Beast, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma has lots of dark dried fruits—raisins, figs, etc.—with some Worcestershire, red wine barrels, and some sugars. Flavour is rich, with lots of red wine barrels, Worcestershire, balsamic, and dark dried fruits. Just enough residual sugar to balance that balsamic. The red wine barrel character is very nice.

On tap at Little Beast, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is rather harsh, with a perfumey bourbon barrel character and some diesel-like maltiness — uh oh. Flavour is harsh as well, with lots of perfumey notes, some nice bourbon, light vanillin, and some roast. This is definitely rough and chaotic. I find something to like here but it's definitely not calibrated right.

On tap at Little Beast, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some sweaty feet thanks to the brett and earthy hops. Flavour is much more west coast-like, with lots of pine, and a touch of brett funk. I'm more convinced of this on the palate than the nose. It's not a master work by any means. It's alright.

On tap at Little Beast, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma has notes of pineapple, light coconut, yogurt and a touch of rum. Flavour is very cocktail-like, with lots of rum, pineapple and coconut. Not a huge amount of complexity but I appreciate the cocktail-like character to this. Solid.

On tap at Little Beast, pours a cloudy bright pinkish reddish amber with a tiny white head. Aroma has plenty of lemon, tart berries, and a touch of lacto. Flavour has a nice lemony tartness, tart red berries, and a touch of lacto. Not a huge amount of complexity but better than the average fruited kettle sour. Decent.

On tap at The Beer Mongers, pours a clear pale golden white head. Aroma has floral, rustic saison yeast, and dry citrus peel. Flavour is somewhat estery, with citrus peel, floral notes, and some candied notes. Not nearly dry or rustic enough. Not what I want in the style. Unconvincing.

Pint can. pours a nearly opaque black with a small beige head that soon fades away. The aroma is somewhat mild in strength with coffee, and blackened malts. The taste is mild coffee, blackened malts and some bittersweet cocoa. The palate is very much on the thin side, and the carbonation is soft. Finishes short and dry. Overall: Decent concoction, but nothing to write home about.
