Draught at Elizabeth Station, Bellingham
Dark mahogany color. Nice malty and bready aroma, chestnut honey. The flavor as well is very nice; the malt and caramel is rich, and the barrel is delicate and has a good contribution; lightly fruity in the final; correct bitterness.
Excellent.

Draught at The Local, Bellingham
Dark blond color, hazy, with some head. The aroma is lightly bready. The mouthfeel is a bit too sour and lemony, and weak, with traces of wheat bread.
Lemony, not convincing.

Light pinkish, a rough tartness and vague berryish, gets into a clean lactic finish. Not much complexity.

Draught at the brewpub (11.7%). Clear ruby. Appley nose. Sweet and syrupy with thick mouthfeel. Like apples with caramel candied in sugar, it makes my tastebuds overload from the sugar chock. I love this place, but sadly I hate the beer.

Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy amber. Grapefruit aroma. Sweet with clean, but firm mouthfeel. Plenty of juicy hops. The hops are given a lot of space, but some syrup tries to cloy it up. Still a pretty decent IPA.

Draught at the brewpub (6.4%). Clear chestnut brown. Neutral aroma. Sweet with clean mouthfeel and medium to full body. Heavy on roasty malt with obvious crystal malt character. Medium bitterness. A scotch ale needs better malt character than this.

Draught at the brewpub (3.9%). Very black. Tarry and chocolatey. Medium dry with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Dominated by licorice and plastic. Harsh resiny bitter finish.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear nut brown. Grassy nose. Sweet with clean, hard mouthfeel and notes of ash. Spicy bitterness. The malt character is simplistic and way too hard to be pleasant.

Draught pint at Redbones, 12/16/05. Pours a very hazy, transluscent, copper-lemon skin-tangerine orange, moderate amount of white head receding to cover, slowly and leaving spotty lacing in its wake. The aroma smells immediately of yeasty b-vitamins, light plastic/solvent-like notes (more yeast bi-products), mixed in with dry white-grapefruit, lemons and a touch of pale malt sugars. Reminds me a lot of Rogue’s integrity IPA. Actually, it just reminds me more of Rogue’s yeast and that general distinct note that their unfiltered beers have. The aroma is very weak overall, though, possibly held back by the high amount of yeast. Anyways, this translates to the flavor as well, yeasty, light plastic (not in a terrible way though), with white dough, touch of white pepper and plenty of lemons, tangerines and grapefruits. Pale grains seem rather husky, especially as it warms and the body comes in to question. Light wateriness, and a very low amount of malt sweetness. Through all of that, it dosent get too dry, just rather hoppy and thin. Bitterness is not over-the-top, and there is no sign of alcohol. Slippery on the tongue at points, while light yeast and grains provide grit.
