50cl can as Sapporo premium black 5% brewed in vietnam Bought from my local kiosk. pours brown with a light brown head. slightly almost metallic aroma, dark caramel, syrup, faint rye, faint roasted malts flavor is roasted malts, bitter nuts, smoked malts, bitter caramel, rye like sugary note, interesting nontraditional flavor - quite a lot of flavor for a 5% beer. not entirely to my liking - too herbal and caramelly bitter - but not boring and not cloying. not just named dark and look dark, there is some flavor to back up the dark color.

First up: Sapporo Summer Pils 5% Deep gold with huge topping of fine white bubbly foam. The aroma was pretty good but the first sip was semi-rough macrolager. The aftertaste is nice with some malt and even mild hop notes. It’s dead easy to drink so an ok beer.

Cans sent by Sapporo for my comment. Decent, slightly grainy beer smell under the pop tab. Pours a slightly amber color, with a swiftly dwindling and fizzy head. It may be just a shade darker than the Premium, if I recall. I do get some toasty malts in the glass, but a tang of the processed taste from some light beers. But there's also some decently sharp hop bitterness. And it comes across as a little more filling than expected in a light beer.

Aroma malty, biscuit, corn. Taste of corn, biscuit. Typical pale lager, nothing special.

Bottle from Asia Oriental Farnborough. Aroma is grainy, smoky. Underlying syrupy sweetness. Clear light amber gold. Foamy translucent white head. Sweet and doughy with sour yeasty edge and some cardboard. Light bodied. Thin. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long finish. Verging on unpleasant. Too sweet and chemical.

Bottle at an Asian restaurant in Patras, Greece. Medium gold, small head, very mild aroma. Nice caramel content giving it a fairly good body, bit of spicy hops, pretty decent for a mass produced lager.

Can. Gold with a good inch of white head that fades gradually. Grainy aroma with light herbal notes. A little and brief touch of richness but not much sweetness before a decisive (very decisive for a Japanese macro) spicy bitterness at the end. Pretty good.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours clear gold with a transient white head. Aroma is bready with a pale fruit note. Near med body. Flavor is crisp, has a touch of apple. Blind taste I might have thought it cider. Dry. Barely bitter. Quite refreshing tho.
