Can from Family Mart. Medium brown with a tall, off-white head. Toasty nose, dark bread, light caramel, touch of chocolate. Hints of citrus from the hops. Nice but not very big. Rich malt flavor, chocolate, caramel, toast, light nuts. More expressive than the nose, with citrus notes and a nice hop bite in the finish. Light body, medium to high carbonation, so easy drinking, and surprisingly hoppy for a brown beer. PRetty decent.

Notes form June 2009 Bottle from some sushi joint a couple blocks walk from the Museum of Natural History. First beer was a dollar. The Yankees were loosing bad on the tube. I had an awesome spiderweb roll. A decent night all around. Served into a thin frosted mug. Poured out a yellow, mellow gold, with a big column of seltzer-ish head. Smell is virtually non existent, except for a little notion of wheat. The condensation off the glass obviously watered it down somewhat. Dusty & husky, subtle sweetness, very light with some old/damp hop residuals & faint lemon rind. A touch of ugly Euro malt is the only thing offensive I can find. Carbonation is pretty strong, & the alcohol barely registers. Easy & washed down the food just fine. Not as good as Baltika Light as far as my go to for cleanliness/being refreshing goes though.

26/10/2024. Can bought at a random supermarket in Fukuoka. Pours black with a small frothy off-white beige head. Aroma is roasted, malty, coffee, chocolate, liquorice, caramel. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, smooth, bit above average carbonation. Finish was clammy which was a detractor but this is pretty decent for a mass market brew.

Man I could have sworn I rated this years ago, but I guess not! First beer rating after the Milton endurance. This is a big tall 22 ounce can from beer world largo. Pour is big and black with a nice tan head that fades in a minute. Good attractive dark beer mildly burnt nose. At first this comes across as an easy to drink dark lager. Its quite civilized up front. Liking this initially. Not bad in the middle either. Good tones of dark lager mildy burnt old damp campfire wood. Mild carbonation. However, that burnt bitterness really starts to increase and get on my nerves as the session continues; its oddly starting to show some baltic character. That burnt bitter bite increases into the finish. Ends with an almost rude attitude but remains palatable. Decent brew tasting experience.
Not a terrible NA to be honest
Light, crisp, good palate cleanser. Ramen here are delicious.
Shinkansen beers! Classic English pale.

Can from the supermarket. Nose is light bacon or ham smoke, caramel, toast. Again, light smoke, more caramel. Toast, lightly salty. Needs way more Rauchmaltz. Well made but too reserved and slightly boring for a rauch.

Milder rezent. Im Abgang schwach. - Rund und trinkbar aber doch zu blaß. (17.9.2024.)
