Description
Gregory Hall founded Virtue Cider in 2011. He is known for his 20-year tenure as brewmaster at the Goose Island Beer Company, having won 14 consecutive Great American Beer Festival medals and pioneered bourbon barrel-aged beer with Bourbon County Stout. In the spring of 2011, Hall left Goose Island and embarked on a two-month pilgrimage to study the craft of cider, touring and tasting at top cidermakers in England and France. He brought his extensive experience and innovative style to launch Virtue Cider. In 2013, Hall brought the cidermaking venture as close as possible to one of the United States' best apple-growing states of Michigan and launched Virtue Cider in Fennville, Michigan.
From 2015 to 2023 Virtue was owned by ABInBev. Greg Hall bought the Cidery back in 2023.

On tap @ Proletariat. A blurry paleish looking one with a quickly sidesticking bright white head. Smells really good. Lots of dryness in the nose. Wood, dust, small yellow sourish apples. Like it. Yeah, tastes lovely. It has a really tasty acidity this! Also some sweetness for balance, but it's definitely on the acidic sour path this cider. Good small prickling bubbles in a near oily texture. Lots of nice apply acidic flavors in this. Cork and musk. Super dry finish. Nice and really refreshing. 19.06.2015

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a hazy moonstone color with a trace soapy white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was leather, earthy, musty and pear. The flavor was sourish pear with leather, must, earth and was in general off and odd. Long leathery and earthy finish. Medium body. Not good.
