On tap at Winter Warmer: Poured a deep reddish color ale with some very sweet notes of candi sugar with light lacto presence some light funky notes. Taste is dominated by high level of candi sugar with light funky ester and some light tart notes. Way too sweet to be enjoyable, I had trouble drinking two ounces of this beer.

Sweetness of sugar edges out the bourbon making it feel more like a sherry. Coconut milk a bit and cookies as well

Bottle: Poured a dark hazy brown color ale with a small foamy head with minimal retention and not much lacing. Aroma consists of loads of residual sugar with light dry fruit s notes and light alcohol ester. Taste is dominated by sweet notes with light dry fruits components also detectable. Barrel-aging doesn’t provide a lot of additional complexity. Body is quite full with limited complexity and some light alcohol still detectable. Too sweet and unbalanced for my taste. Not something I would need to try again.

Sampled at the DC Local Tasting a 50cl bottle pours a totally clear watery yellow with one ring of white head. Nose of formaldyhyde, yeast, white bread, smoke, rubber. Flavor is rubbery, smokey, light rye. Water gross finish.

Bottle courtesy of mdfb79, thanks! Extra light fizzy yellow. Aroma vaguely reminiscent of formaldehyde. Taste is bitter white pepper. Strange.

Bottle: Poured a dark black color stout with a nice slightly off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of vanilla and coffee are pretty dominant with some light black chocolate also noticeable. Taste is sweeter then I had anticipated with some clear lactose notes though vanilla notes are clearly recognisable. Body is about average with good carbonation. Good though end up being a bit over the top and it is kind of hard to finish a bottle.

Bottle: Poured a dark black color stout with a nice light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of black chocolate notes with medium dry notes and light vanilla touch. Taste is also, as advertised, dominated by light dry black chocolate notes with light lactose notes and some subtle vanilla notes. Body is about average with light creamy texture and good carbonation. Not bad though I couldn’t drink multiple of those in one session.

This stout poured a deep, dark black colour with a creamy, dark tan coloured head. Light lacing. To the nose there are scents of smoke, licorice, chocolate, cooked veggies and cream. First sip was very smooth with a almost oily mouthfeel. Carbonation was low and the flavours of burnt chocolate and smoke were most prodominant. Other flavours of licorice and i’m guessing Absinth come up later. Finish is smoky and burnt with a light licorice flavour lingering.
