This red ale poured a deep amber colour with a minimal, soapy head. Minimal lacing. Scents include caramel, must, candy and biscuit. First swig was a little thin with not much carbonation, with flavours of caramel, malt, tea and biscuit. Finish is malty caramel with a little tea flavour lingering.

A clear, dark amber body topped by a white, thinly laced head. The nose has a touch of fruity sourness, caramel and citrus. As promised, the lead taste elements are malt based - caramel and roasted grain. Hop fruitiness follows, but not too astringent or obnoxiously fruit-juicy like the recent NE IPAs that everyone is making. I'm buyin' what they're sellin' here

A real dark brown colour with some copper-ruby highlights, a big frothy mocha-coloured head, lasting quite a while and leaving thick creamy-foamy lacing streaks. Roasted malt base with some light fruitiness, even apples notes. Chocolate, coffee and hints of vanilla. A smooth, light oily mouthfeel with some nice slow building dryness, exposing some decent bitterness. Again, some fruity flavours blended with the roasted barley and the alcohol is well-hidden. A pretty good, easy-drinking Imperial Stout with a nice drying finish.

Can from the lcbo. Dark brown pour, with a small off white head. Aroma is roasty, but very slight. Very light pine, overly bitter for the style, roast falls off quickly, easy drinking, but not very enjoyable.

6er from the lcbo. Pours a nice amber, with a big white head. Aroma has hints of pine, toasted grains and light caramel. Finish has hints if stone fruit, and grass. The body is bigger than what I’d expect, and the carb is very soft. The beer is kinda muddy, and would benefit from more crispness. It’s not awful, I think people are seeing ipa and expecting a west coast hop bomb, not realizing its an English ipa. Even at that it’s not great, but it’s not awful either.

on tap at C’est What during the 2006 spring beerfest. Ok guys, stick to making wine. Thin, not much hops at all, wattery, forgettable.

6er from the lcbo. Huge, bright fresh cut apple skin Aroma, fake pear, and some honey. Lifeless carb, watery mouth feel. Fake finish. Artificial, and almost cloying. Wet paper, and musty apples.... Not impressed.

cask days 2011.
this was a bloody mess.
the pour looked like chocolate milk, with chunkies in it. aroma was faint bitter cocoa, and the slightest of mint. flavor was just more bitter cocoa, living up to the chocolate milk pour. the mint was nowhere to be found until the finish when there was a hint of after eight mint, then it was washed away quickly by more bitter watery unsweetened cocoa.

Volo Cask Days 2009. This beer was pretty bland and boring. Some slight hops, and some light malts. really not much more to say........pretty bland.

Pale pinkish and bright. No head. Smells like raspberry syrup and apples. Very light body, really quite sweet. Simple raspberry syrup. Quick finish. I mean, if you hate life this might be okay.
