bottle. No vintage shown like with the normal white wedding. bbf 30.12.2033. bought with white wedding 2026
pours very close to black with a dark brown head that soon disappears.
aroma is lots of roasted malts with brown sugar notes , aroma have many complex notes from wood, but it is all very velvety and smooth. no dried dark fruit quad crazyness, is more like a world class bourbon imp. stout. if i search for it a bit, i get the port wine from the barrels as a slightly fruity note, but it's faint in the aroma. aroma is seriously good. amazing nuances they got from the barrelling.
flavor is solid imp stout, roasted malts, coffee , a bit of alc. burn - bit too much, dark chocolate, long strong roasted malty aftertaste. complex notes from wood into the aftertaste but always fairly balanced and velvety. does taste more like a bourbon barrel than a port barrel. maybe it's the coffee, the added sugars that tilt the flavor in that direction.
def. better than the standard black wedding and red wedding - they got this one off the barrel at just exactly the right time.

Tasting flight, 0,15 l. Pitch black in the glass, small beige head.Smooth roasted malt, choco and a lot of barrel wood whiskey on the nose. Taste starts also smooth roasted malty, vanilla, barrel wood and boozy. Slick. No carbonation as expected. Really nice one.

0,15 l taster at the brewery. Murky orange rosé in the glass, small white head. Wheat and dry sour fruity nose. Taste is sour fruity with pale grain, lactose and peach. Low carbonation.

2026 bottle.
Pours very dark brown, selttles black, light brown small head
really nice red grape like roasted malty aroma, sort of like a port barrel imp stout, fruits and wood are near perfectly balanced and the base beer appears solid enough to be able to handle the extra complexity.
flavor is roasted malts, salt licorice, coconut, bit of coffee bitterness, lots of alc. bitterness, wood, faint note from the red wine, i little bit of cake frosting sweetness from the sugars, dark chocolate cake with a tiny bit of bitter caramel that i could do without. Still, a pretty darn good BA imp stout and the red wine barrel worked exceptionally well, it has not turned into a halfway quad or anything crazy. smooth. super nice. def. better than 2026 black, this being more balanced.

Draught @ the brewpub, Nordby. Pours clear golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of hops and fruit, with notes of citrus and yeast. Bitter flavourbof hops and citrus, with sweetish notes of yeast and fruit, and malty touches. Hoppy and estery aftertaste with dry touches. A nice one.

Draught @ the brewpub, Nordby. Pours cloudy peach yellow with airy but stable white head. Clear aroma of citrus and yeast, with hoppy touches. Dry flavour of citrus and Gose yeast, with touches of malt, fruit, and chili. Estery and dry aftertaste with notes of chili. Decent.

Bourbon aroma, also roasted malts, some kind of citrussy fruity notes.
Flavor is fruity, licorice, bourbon, honey or maple syrup, alc. burny ending with some malty bitterness to carry a mixed fruity/roasted malty flavor into the far end.
the beer is somewhat more fruity than normal bourbon stouts, borrowing some flavor notes from belgian quad's but not the crazy yeast funkiness.
i would've preferred less fruits more roasted malts. The flavor here is more like the flavor i'd expect from red wedding, or maybe barrelling on white port wine barrels or dessert wine or the like.
pretty good and very complex sipper.
texture is a little bit thin for such a heavy imp stout, but okay and does not feel or taste watery.
while the dried dark fruity notes are a bit in the way, they do let you explore the beer as a very complex beer with more enthusiasm. makes you think how those 12 months in the barrel went, and what went on in there.
quite well blended, not much coffee though. It can be tasted that the beer has had a lot of time to settle.
