A frothy off white head tops this dark garnet colored beer. This reminds me of the aroma of a box of chocolate covered cherries. This has a slightly sweet malt flavor that starts full but ends a bit thin.

Pour is a almost black but you can see red when held up to light. Aroma is malts, light hops and some berries. Flavor is smoky berry with some malts in there. Its different and neither real good or that bad.

Pour is a bright orange with a nice sized white head. Aroma is faintly hoppy but its there. Flavor is very dry, hoppy and musty. I do get some citrus in the end along with some bitterness. Good beer for those who like hops but not to the extreme as some other beers.

Bottle. Amber, slightly reddish color with a little white head. Slight cranberry aroma with some malt. Sweet malt flavor with a little fruitiness. Didn’t like the aftertaste, not exactly sacharine, but close.

Paid $1.49 for a 12-oz single. Amber, no head. Smells slightly cirtusy. Taste is plain, watery, and slightly malty. Boring.

Dark brown body with red highlights, thick, puffy tan head. A hint of detergent in the aroma as well as dry roast, dry chocolate, and bitter hops. Very thin body with light roasted malts and an almost woody quality, soapy and toasty, with a dry chocolate and floral hops finish. Too thin for my liking.

Bottle Pours a slightly hazy medium orange/amber, with a small transient head and a little sticky lacing. Aroma is a swet grain malty flavor. Hint of some kind of berry maybe. Taste was bitter and hoppy up front, giving way to a wheat toast and then the lingering astringent hopps btterness at the back of your mouth which borders on unpleasant. Feel was good, not thin or watery. Not one of my favorites.

Bottle Pours very dark brown with little head and no lacing to speak of. Aroma is typical dark roast smokey coffee. Taste is more of the burnt charcoal with a little dark coffee. This porter is lacking the thick smooth heavy feel of some of the better one I’ve had. Flavore is nice but the feel and the palate are thin, watery, and a bit dissapointing. Lingering sense of wet cardboard. Maybe it’s just an organic thing ...hippies...

2003 bottle. Good pour, clear, filtered but nice and deep brown with some lighter brown around the sides. Small off-white head. Aroma pretty good for a porter, strong chocolate malt, sweet with a hint of sweet roastiness. Flavor begins with a nice sweet roasted flavor, light coffee and a touch of mild hops. Altogether, it is very smooth, balanced and flavorful, though not too daring. That's ok though, not every beer has to be an experiment. I was ready to say almost light bodied, but as it warmed, it picked up a bit of chewiness and the taste was as good if not better. I could drink a pitcher of this in no time. Mmmm, session porters. . .
