Hazy amber brown beer with an off white head. Semi dry and semi soft palate. An odd barleywine. Salty with bitter astringent citrus that doesn’t overwhelm. The mid is tasty with malt and fruit but the back end is all bitterness. Beer was best when pretty cold and the bitterness was supressed.

Pours hazy dark amber with a tall off-white head. Faint malt aroma. Sweet malt flavor that doesn’t come close to Barley wine complexity. Not bad, just not a Barley wine.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear, orange-gold with a small, filmy white head. Somewhat hoppy aroma with some melon and apricot notes. Flavor has mild caramel malt, then right onto the hops, mostly of the earthy, grassy, piney variety. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a slightly resinous mouthfeel. Finishes with lots of earthy, dirty bitterness. Not too shabby.

Bottle. Clear, golden body. Frothy, white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma is sweet, grassy. Notes of cookie, hay and toast. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. The finish is lightly sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, thin, watery texture, lively carbonation. First whiff leaves the impression of a promising aroma. But that’s about it. Balance is off. Aftertaste is vegetative and grainy.

12 oz. bottle, bought last October at the ex-Sam’s Wines. Well, definitely past its prime. Medicinal smell upon pouring, though it does dissipate and it sometimes makes me think of extra malts. Hazy copper color, short but persistent head. But hey, there are still hops in here. Mostly English, I think, but with a bracer of some citrus hop. Overall impression is dried grass and bittering alphas. After that initial bit of phenol, it proves to be a pretty nice, standard IPA. More full-bodied mouthfeel that previous organic beers I’ve tried.

Bottle, Deveney’s, Dublin. Clear dark amber pour with a fast fading thin white head. Some muted grassy hop and citrus in the nose. Slightly bland and thinnish palate. Caramel malt heavy flavour with somewhat muffled hoppage. Slight metallic tang towards the finish which lets it down. Alright, but verging on joe average.
