Bottle. Slightly hazy amber body. Quickly receding off-white head. Malty aroma of caramel, toasted grain. Hint of grass and citrus. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. The finish is lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Dry. A bit of rubbery taste. Medium body with a slightly sticky texture. Though pleasantly bitter in the finish, there is too much chewy malt.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a dark brown, clear, with ruby highlights. Not much head, but decent lacing. Aroma is roasted malts dark fruits and soy. The taste is roasted malts, subtle bitter hops, chocolate and coffee. Medium bodied.

Thanks to cbkschubert for the bottle - pours a fizzy, semi-hazy pale gold, but fails to kick up a head - strong noble hop aroma, bordering on skunky, but never quite getting there - rather strong, dry, grassy hops combine with crackery malts to create a nearly chalky, tongue-curling dryness - but somehow the strong hop profile makes this much less unpleasant than it sounds - however, there are other flaws - flavors of metal and pool water arrive late, detracting from the relative tastiness of the hops - man that is sad - oh well, another crappy organic beer.

bottle - Pours hazy yellow with very little head. It has a nice fruity, bread malt aroma. The flavor is bready malt sweetness and a decent hops level. The hops is just bitter without adding much complexity. This brew has a thin, watery palate and a lightly bitter finish. Lacking.

Bomber from Bottle Barn. Reddish copper color with a creamy beige head. Aroma of fruity hop over caramel malt. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is slightly citrus hop over lightly roasted malt. Finishes nicely bitter. Very satisfying.

To me, a Hefe should be a medium yellow with a good bit of cloudiness. This was a thin yellow and very clear. It should also boast a tall, long lasting head and this one had a small head that disappeared almost immediately. Decaying citrus aroma that moves towards some clove. Dry finish to a thin, watery disappointing start. Very thin bodied for a Hefe.

Pours a rich amber-orange color with a medium and frothy off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine resin and hops. Medium body with a moderately bitter hoppy character that has notes of pine and citrus. Some malt in the background too. The finish is hoppy with caramel malt undertones, and a lightly spiced hops aftertaste. Above average overall, however it falls a little short in the IIPA distinction.
