Black with a large foamy brown head. Toasty and roasty with coffee, caramel, salt and booziness. Very long finish. Full body.

The third of four in the series, a pint can bought from a liquor store in the Chicago area. A progression towards what I hope are the better ones, I have a New Belgium globe glass ready. An ink black pour with a steady skim of dark tan foam, it delivers like a can of motor oil. I take a smell, geez this is good, bakers chocolate, pecans, baked wheat bread and toasted malt. The drink starts with a thick sensation I appreciate. Following is chocolate malt, coffee, scorched toast, a touch of toffee, a boozy background and a decent bitterness concluding. Rather well done and yes, this is the best of the three tried so far.

Sample, thanks fonefan! Black, small head. Coconut and dill overpower the exquisite coffee up front. Very sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Sugar, coconut, dark chocolate and earthy coffee. The coconut overkill and excessive sweetness kills off the finer details underneath.

Poured from a 750 ml, 2024 vintage bottle.
Aroma is nice with fruity coffee notes, chocolate, vanilla and light cinnamon notes. Medium alcohol notes with light bourbon and faint oak notes. Moderate roast and chocolate malt notes with some lighter toffee and dark caramel.
Pours jet black with a medium sized, thick, dark mocha head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers on the edges. Light lacing and sheets for legs.
Flavor is fairly sweet with lots of chocolate, roast, dark caramel, graham cracker and toffee notes. Moderate bitterness and medium alcohol notes. Balanced notes of cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate. Nice coffee notes. Moderate bourbon notes and faint oak.
Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid BA stout with lots of nice coffee notes and balanced vanilla and cinnamon. Decent barrel notes and alcohol works well with the adjuncts. Vanilla shows up more as it warms.

Round four of these. I feel like they cheated with cheap extracts but at least one of them hit really well, so...

Baby Duvel glass at home while watching The Pitt reruns on Cuban national television. Bless the internet.

Sooty, opaque, oatmeal lace.
Ugly Apple Jolly Rancher whiff immediately off the pour, 1:1 & I hate it.
I hold my nose & I get some okay, cooked spiced apple & crust melted into the final product. It's sharp, borderline sour, very medicinal, & tries hard to hide the solid malty base. I can't get any of the usual choco or coffee. The body is now thinner.

Go away.

Shiggy Share. Didn't love the first couple flavors but this one has potential.

Baby Duvel tulip at home. Brown on black, sooty. Thin but lux maple head.
Moderate coffee roast, residual sugar, with a very gentle dark berry sharpness on the nose. A little bit of jammy perfume whiffs off when it starts to warm up.
Lux malty feels. Dense coffee with restrained bitterness, just the gentlest hint of jam sweetness & accompanying acidity, that can't ever break through the malt.

I'm not completely convinced that the base is OG Speedway but this is a good treatment.

16oz @ Ryan's shared with Josh (thx for the beer!), Farees, and Phill.
Aroma: nutty, chcocolate, some American oak. There is so much of sludge left in the can, that all of us got surprised since no one have actually seen anything like that.
Taste: feels like a chcocolate syrup, a bit hot.
Overall: this is fu#$ing Mortalis quality, lol. Well, despite weird mouthfeel, at least it's enjoyable in terms of the flavour.
