Thick, irregular & dense cream head, quite stable over hazy dark reddish brown beer. Sweet nose: melanoidins & speculaasherbs, but also arachide, rancid peanuts, fatty acids, vegetable. More of the same, but in the taste, the flavours balance out better. Dark malts with some caramel dominate, with the sweet and the vegetable/peanuts in the background; aloe vera. Warming up, I seem to get some underroasted coffeebeans. Despite the contents not really oily; feels well-carbonated, medium bodied. I could live with the overall flavour, but there is some mangling in the brew. I'd wish a bit more of the inventiveness used for the names would go into the fermenters... 5/4/6/3/12

Clear amber to red orange beer, practically no head. Aroma: raspberry jam, lots of candy-like aromas, bit artificial. MF: lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bit acidic, sourish, lots of acidity, lemony, more raspberry jam. Aftertaste: more acidic, lemon juice, more raspberry jam without the sweetness.

Bottle at Café de Woeken, Kortrijk, West Flanders, Belgium Friday 27th April 2018 Pours black with a slim off white head, a clean nose, I was expecting something meaty or substantial but it's really quite clean, light dark fruit it's good, drinks far easier than it should for the abv. A little chocolate cookie, a touch of hedgerow fruit. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Towering, dense, whipped eggwhite head over clear golden beer with "Grünstich" ; at first well-carbonated but rapidly falling a bit flat. Creamy nose, bit dairy, faintly perfumey. Not much to smell - seen the decimeters of head predictable - but even after a long wait... Bit wild herbs. Be hopbitter, softened by sweet pale malts. Again green herbs. Finish has some wry hops and unripe banana, as well as ultra-watered-down honingbollen. Feels decently carbonated; slick, bit hopoily, light body. Quite OK, just don't expect refinement, nor fireworks. 6/4/7/3/14

Small to medium, irregular, yellowish cream head over pitch-black beer. Sweetish, roasted & herbal nose, and once more a lot of liquorice, as well as speculaasherbs. Sweet-roasted. Finish is nearly burnt, but hardly any bitter. Again herbs, dark green leaves. Bit of mocha and chocolate. Liquorice, but less spicy than the nose. Well-bodied, slick & creamy, faint alcoholwarming. Would be better than average, given a little less sweetness. 6/4/7/4/13

Short-lived off-white head over red-brown opaque beer. Marzipan, sweet, almonds, bitter almonds. Watered-down and melted marzipan, faraway spanish pepper flavour. Slick, viscous, sticky. Disappointing. And that is stating it mildly. And BTW, what is wrong with "ketters"? 6/4/5/3/11

Thick-set, whipped eggwhite-like head over hazy ochre-orange beer. Mild hops, not overly citrussy, dough. Nice hops, non-New World, but bit raw. The balance, OTOH is quite right. I certainly couldn't get the elderflower. Quite creamy feel, good carbonation. Typical Belgian interpretatation of an IPA - but in a good way. 6/4/7/3/14
