Has a bright amber-brown colour. Not much head. The aroma is complex, toasty, touch of pine/pitch. Similar piney character, sweet golden syrup/toasty malts, raisins, golden plums. Very complex, but with a beautiful pale fruitiness, and a dash of toasty character.

500mL bottle, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out dry toasted bread, a little caramel and a very British malt characteristic. Flavour is rich and complex, with loads of caramel, toasted bread, toffee and a wonderful earthy quality. Complex as hell, decadent, sweet but not cloying and with tons of depth. Fantastic.

Pint at brewer’s cooperative. Quite dark for what it is, lots of hops and a good hit of malts and bitterness.

Growler. Clear pale amber with a white head. 3+ Aroma of passionfruit, grapefruit, some pine, slightly toasty bread. A little sweet, dries out a bit towards a fairly bitter finish. Fruity hops and quite resinous. Is there as much mandarin as grapefruit in the citrus flavours, or does the passionfruit swamp the citrus a tad? Slightly toasty. Very clean, but illustrates the difference between clean and neutral malt very well. It’s good and (again) really well made but passionfruit is a little too prominent for me.

500ml bottle. Almost overpowering aroma. There’s lots of hops, as is to be expected, but the caramel and orange notes are a very pleasant surprise. Absolutely nothing left off the table here, this is big and bold.

On tap at Alehouse Project, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of fresh piney hops and some stone fruitiness. Flavour is quite fruity, with lots of stone fruits and piney hops upfront. Loads of stone fruits on the finish. Very nice.

On tap at Alehouse Project, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out biscuity malt and maybe a touch of grassiness. Flavour is fairly bland, with biscuity malt and only a touch of grass. Pretty light and restrained, but very clean. Decent, but lacks oomph - I don't understand the high ratings.

On tap at Alehouse Project, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out herbal hops and some vegetal qualities. Flavour is along the same lines, with herbal hops, piney, and biscuity malt. A little too herbal for my taste. It's pretty good for what it is.
