Description

@ botteltje. Pours dark brown, good white head. Smell is earthy, spices, green leaves. Taste is bit bitter ( green aspect) roasted malts , chocolaty, earthy in the back. Some spices. Slightly overcarbonated and too thin for 10 abv. Nice, chocolatty aftertaste. Some metalic maltyness

It pours first a hazy orange brown then turns cloudy. Great head of foam, retention, and lacing.

Spicy nose to start..smells like some asian spices were used and the mustard spice clearly listed in the name. Quite a bit of sugary sweetness seeps through and there’s an earthy character here as well.

Mmm..spicy, candi sugar sweets, earthy malt, cool that the mustard seeds integrate so well giving the beer an unusual but enjoyable balance.

Medium body with the carbo on the lighter side.

I only bought 1 bottle but I’ll buy more if it’s still around. An overall tasty son of a gun.

03/12/2014 @home - 33cl bottle from brewery. Masive gusher!! What a pitty because after that, I really liked the beer. Amber coloured, foamy head, Smell has soms lambic like sourness, light sweetness, floral. Taste : light sourness, spices & hops, at the back some sweetness. What a pity of the gusher because its taste is verry nice and complex 01/02/2015 : re-taste, no gushing this time and the beer is much better than the 3.9 I gave earlier, damn it’s really good!

Winter ale with stable, sticky, light beige head and deep hazy bronze colour. Aroma of brown sugar, port wine, coriander, pancakes, pear, cinnamon, banana, ginger, cloves. Sweet and fruity taste, candi sugariness, banana, yeasty and spicy with obvious coriander seed, drying finish with herbal hops and port-like warming alcohol. Very cliché - especially considering Johan Brandt’s creations at his former Regenboog brewery - but very decent.

Tasted when it was still made at the original Regenboog brewery, not sure if it has changed a lot since Johan Brandt moved his brewing activities, but it is hard to imagine it hasn’t. In its original form, this was a pleasant, amber coloured musterd seed beer, in which a very slight hint of mustard was indeed detectable, yet covered by a candi sugar and malty sweetness. Had some complexity and was quite enjoyable.

Clear golden, small offwhite head. Light malty aroma. Rough, malty flavour, something artificial. Some spice and alcohol but again rather rough.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of bread, malt, caramel and fruit, with notes of hops. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt and fruit, with bready and hoppy notes and some flowery touches. Lively carbonation, but the body is rather thin. Bitter and rough aftertaste. Drinkable but nothing special as such.
