Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at Isobels, Eardisley, Herefordshire Thursday 22nd December 2016 Woah.....this is one sweet beast, crikey. A pretty tasty beer, its very potent, very thick in the mouth, really quite hoppy, but the sweetness is quite hard to cope with. This is one that I wish I could have shared with others. Ok. 44cl (indeed) bottle from Dorst. Semi-hazy light amber pour with a very tall off-white head with decent retention. Notes of blackcurrant, blackcurrant yogurt, tart blackberries, minerals, herbal bitterness, dank cellar, sugar and citrus. A surprising brew, can’t say it resembles anything I have tried before. It could do with a little less sweetnes and a more dry mouthfeel, but other than that, not bad!

33cl bottle from Dorst, Den Haag. Very dark brown pour, visibly viscous, with a tall tan head that is crawling its way to the surface. Notes of roasted malts, smoke, medium levels of peat, dark chocolate, chili peppers. Full body, medium carbonation. A mildly spicy and roasty finish.

500ml bottle from Piligrim in Moscow. Pours dark brown with a long-lasting beige head. Lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel, floral hops, malt. Taste is sweet, toasted malt, caramel, medium hoppy bitterness. Uncharacteristic for a Märzen, but still pretty decent.

50cl bottle from Kaubamaja, Tallinn. Pours clear amber with a lasting, off-white head. Hoppy, fruity and well balanced. Tropical fruits, citrus, hints of herbs and pine and some caramel. Moderate to medium sweet with medium flavour intensity and a pleasantly bitter finish. Nice and refreshing IPA.
