Description
The microbrewery is founded by Achilles Van de Moer on the passion for special beers. After 7 years of trials with different beers, the decision to start a microbrewery in Itegem was made in 1999. The brand name of beers is “Serafijn”. All beers are high fermentation brews, with second fermentation in the bottle. Most of the beers are contract brewed, but some of them are also brewed at their own location.
In 2015 Achilles became part of Caupona bvba (of the Prik & Tik stores in Heist-op-den-Berg and Herselt). The brewery is now called ''Brouwerij Serafijn.'' That is the new company in Heist that houses the Serafijn beers. The former microbrewery in Itegem has been dismantled.
The beer is now brewed at the Pirlot brewery in Zandhoven.

Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt, and a bit of yeast. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and yeast, leading to a dry yeasty finish. The body is light. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Chocolatey brown colour with thick, lasting lacy head. Aroma has intense dark fruit sweetness and plenty of maltiness. Flavour is similar. Sweetness is quite high but it works well. Strong in-mouth carbonation enlivens the flavours by bashing them all around the palate.

Bottle from beerplanet.eu. gusher. cloudy yellow, smooth offwhite head. mild and faint yellow fruity aroma, faint yeasty, faint spicy. sort of a mild tripel aroma. flavor is spicy, anise, alc. only faint yellow fruits, the spices and anise and licorice is front and center. Could be an infection, otherwise a daring flavor profile. What fruits there is, is almost excotic, notes of honey, flowers, pineapple.
