Sampled from tap at Leiden Winterbier Festival. Hazy orange golden with thin white head. Sweet malts, barley and grassy notes, light floral, hop pellets, light fruity and some resiny caramel notes. Tap at Winterbierfestival Leiden. Hazy darker golden with creamy head. Dry malty up front with some lime peel, grass, soft dank weeds. Brown bread and grain husks, bit mineral too. Later more bitter citrus peel. Light sweet and quite bitter. Just medium bodied.

Bottle at home. Clear deep amber with quite big but short lasting beige head. Quite hoppy up front with lime, grapefruit, orange peel. There’s quite some alcohol with light spices and a roasted bread touch. Then some light grape skins and other slightly bitter fruit parts. Not much saison character, though it’s quite dry. Medium sweet and alcoholic bitterness. Bit over medium bodied even though it’s quite dry. Quite some carbonation. Decent beer, but maybe a bit too much alcohol.

Bottle at Gekke Geit. Copper with lots of little things floating around, nice creamy but small beige head. Some seawater indeed, smoke, caramel, dried apricot, light grass, asphalt, light red apple. Medium sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with low carbonation.

Black with no head. Aroma and flavour do have some light whiskey notes. It’s very dry and woody.

33cl Bottle from Sterk. Hazy deep golden colour, white head. Aroma is medium sweet, a bit spicy, saison yeast, floral, light grassy. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, hay, spicy, yeast, light floral, light grassy, some citrus, firm bitter finish. Light bodied. OK.

Black with big dark beige head. Lots of peat, ash, roasted malts, tar, old wood, to roasted malts. Very light sweet and medium bitter. Just medium bodied.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB Oct 2018, 33 cl sample. Cloudy nutbrown color, short frothy head. Aroma of lots of fresh grassy hop, grapefruit and citrus. Quite some caramel malt and toffee in the back as well. Hoppy fruity bitterness up front in the taste, again backed up by caramel and toffee from the malts. Slight alcohol note. Malt takes up a lot of the body and it is not really crisp in bitterness. Finish is rather sweet actually. Yeasty notes make that it never surpasses a decent homebrew at best.
