Bottle shared. Almost black with bubbly dark beige head. Ash, strong red wine, huge oak, lots of tannins, laurel licorice, raw cocoa, soft herbs. Very dry and woody with barely any sweetness but medium bitter. Medium bodied with dry feel. Hmmm, a bit too much.

Bottle shared thanks to Maakun. Near black with a bubbly beige head. Aroma comes across a little chemical upfront, before sinking into unrefined woody barrel notes, dark chocolate, licorice and herbal notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter. Above medium bodied with a surprisingly dry finish and soft carbonation.

Keg at GBBF ’16, day 2, 10/08/16. Murky light black with a minimal tan cap that dissipates to nothing. Nose is light roast, chocolate, spice, earthy. Taste comprises toffee, cocoa powder, light roast malts, peppery spice, fruit whisper. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Average porter fayre.

Bottle. Color: Very dark, almost black. Thick beige head. Taste: Roasted malt, hints of chocolate, plum, red fruit, alcohol and wet grass. Dry and fruity, medium body and carbonation.

Bottle at home. Slight hazy amber with some weird chunks floating aroun and a big fluffy light beige head. Orange, caramel, some lemon, tea, soft fresh spices. It’s like chilies but without any heat. I don’t really know what bamboo tastes like, but there’s some citrusy spice that I quite like, but like kumquat maybe too. Just medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied with lots of fizzy carbonation. I don’t get the low scores, I quite like this beer.

Bottle. Copper pour. Aroma of really bitter hop, pine, citrus, caramel and booze. Taste of bitter dry hop, citrus, grapefruit, piney caramel and some malt. Nice one.

33cl Bottle from Sterk. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma is very floral, hoppy, herbal and grassy, some lemon, a bit yeasty. Flavour is light sweet, vegetables, later on more floral, dry, light yeasty, lemon, grass, light herbal, bitter finish. Light bodied, a bit fizzy.

Bottle at home. Dark slight hazy amber with huge fluffy off white head. Very lively beer! Quite some caramel, light booze up front, flowers, some old dead leaves, flowers that were too long in the water, light mineral, coriander stems, bitter grass. Medium sweet and quite bitter. A bit over medium bodied with quite some carbonation though it as lively as the initial pour. It’s certainly different, but not really my thing.
