A low tan head on a near black body. Nose brings some dark chocolate, fresh coffee, acidity and some cherries. This IS is less dense in body and taste than anticipated. Profile includes some coffee, dark chocolate, vinous fruit, sweet malt and some Belgian yeast (bubblegum). A bit of an abrasive mixed bag, which is less bad than being a dog's breakfast.

Bottle from Marche Gendreault. Opaque black with a large foamy khaki coloured head that lingers and leaves sparse lace. Nose is vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee, light wood and roast nuts. Flavour is a light sweet molasses with a medium-light coffee and dark chocolate bitterness and some grass in the finish that wasn't evident in the nose (baut allergies may have a bearing on that). Mouth is medium+ and creamy with very active carbonation. 8/3+/7/3/14

Aluminium can that pours a darker amber colour, clean, with a big frothy light-beige head, very long lasting and with patchy foam lacing. Gets hazy, and even cloudy as it pours. Very nutty aromas over apples notes. Somewhat bready, and quite rich overall. The taste shows some caramel malts, so some mild sweetness, with the roasted hints and decent hops in the finish. A pretty intense Red Ale. Just lacking some balance.

Bottle from Chez Ben. Murky orange amber under a huge fluffy off white head that lasts forever and leaves patchy lace. Nose has tangerine, grapefruit, melon, mango, honey, hibiscus, grass, green fruit, some peach and a touch of vanilla. Light honey and fruit sweetness under a medium citrus and tropical fruit bitterness primarily of grapefruit and pineapple. Mouth is medium slick with slightly soft carbonation and a sticky bitter finish. Appearance is in line with a NEIPA but not as juicy as some. 8/4/7+/3+/16-

Aluminum 496ml bottle that blows way too much head into the glass and a bunch coming out of the bottle. Hazy golden-orange colour with a big creamy-frothy-foamy cap, very long lasting with full soapy lacing. Metallic smell at first, maybe a mix of the bottle and hops used in here. Then, big sweetness with some oranges, caramel and mild grassy notes. The taste has the bigger hoppy side of things for a Session IPA, but does cut short with the citrus lightly lingering. Does not feel like a 4% brew, but something still feels like not properly balanced overall.
