Bottle from HoTM I think. It pours clear ruby - brown with a frothy white cap. The aroma is sweet - sour, tart, tangy, plenty of jammy berry, raspberry, bramble, strawberry, crab apple jelly, cherry cola, Dr Pepper, vinous, red wine, oak tannin, gummy candy, musty, damp oak and a hint of funk. The taste is crisp, dry, crunchy fruits, vinous, juicy, tangy, raspberry, strawberry, cherry, bramble, cranberry, granny smith apple, sour candy, sherbet, tangfastics, tannin red wine, cherry cola and some pleasantly warming alcohol presence. Finish is dry, warming and full of tangy berry. Medium body, moderate carbonation and velvety mouth feel. Absolutely top tier. Vibrant and has great depth. Delectable.

Had it before of course, but never rated it. This one is 5 years old, bottled in 2020. Big, rich, thick malts. reminds me of Dutch microbrew...heavy on the specialty malt. Odd sour funk tone that I dont recall being there in years past, seems a little infected or something. Oily coffee feel, but I dont think sou and coffee complement each other well. Drinkable, but probably aged far too long.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, enormous white head. Pleasant aroma of spicy Belgian ale yeast, white kandij sugar syrup and stewed pale fruits. Medium sweet and distinctly spicy flavour with the same elements, also distinct bittering hops.

Clear, copper-amber-bronze. Small, creamy, off-white head. Persistent.
Lots of wine in the nose, quite woody but not too much tannin. Just rich oak, with big mineral from grape character. Belgian character kind of plays second fiddle to the grape/barrel but it's not a bad barrel character. Smells malty and reasonably balanced. Definitely tannic on the finish with big, vinous acidity. No alcohol noted.
In the mouth it's rich, rich, malty, succulent, sweet, malty and with a good deal of wine, oak, vanilla (from the barrel) and more juicy grape and rich oak. Seems rather underattenuated to me, as it's so powerful, rich, thick, sweet and all this at 6 years old?? What the hell. Come on, De Dolle (Kris), get your beers back to a good dryness. I appreciate these are in it for the long haul, but they are a chore to drink at six years of age and that's just not cool.

Flavor is caramelly and yeasty and very complex fruity, parts of the flavors of red and sweet citrus fruits, but not the whole. Abv well hidden and very mellow and rounded compared to a younger stille nacht. Not sure i ever tasted one 14 years old. Certainly not from. Tap
