Description
Andy Hepworth started brewing in Reading almost directly after University. He moved to Horsham in 1980 and within five years became the youngest Head Brewer in the country, winning many awards.
The long-standing tradition of brewing in Horsham came to an abrupt halt in 2000 with the sale of its last brewery and so Andy, determined to maintain that tradition, joined up with the key members of the brewing team in order to create Hepworths, an independent brewery aiming to build its own range of quality brands, while maintaining flexibility for contract work.
In 2016 they relocated to their current site which they co-locate with Goodwood Brewery, Laines Brew Hub and Ridgeway Brewing sharing certain facilities but not brewplants.

Bottle. It pours a rather pale golden body. The head is large-bubbled and small, white color. Grainy, malty and lightly fruity aroma, almost honey-like, not that that makes it much better, it’s still boring and below mediocre. Thin, somehow sweetish mouthfeel with flavors of pale malt, grains, some sugar and honey, and a fruity touch. Maybe some honey here as well. Short, fruity and grainy finish with little or none bitterness. Boring. Boring. Unoffensive. The flavor isn’t bad though, quite quenching and refreshing, but utterly boring and lacking bitterness. Bottle, Beers of Europe. Bit of a turkey really this one. Always wary of beers bragging about awards on the bottle. A copper coloured pour with a vanishing off white head. Very little flavour to speak of, has a vague sweetness that is not enjoyable. Lacking in any character. Didn’t finish. Booo

Bottle (labelled as Carn Brea One and All - purchased on St. Michael’s Mount). Toffee malt and cherry aroma - malt dominates. Reddish amber color with moderate head. Strong toffee malt and cherry/berry flavor. Very fruity but also with strong malt taste as well. Very nice.

Half from gravicask at London Drinker BF 08. Dark golden body under a thin white head. Aromatic nuances of malts and fruity hops. Bitter fruit accented flavour followed by bready malts and nuts. Hop bitterness in a nice finish. Well made best bitter (evening session, 13.03.2008).

Bottle (from Beers of the World - apparently Nepal is now in Sussex). Sweet honey and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow color with small head - mild effervescence. Nice - a big like a lager/ale mix.

660ml bottle at the Swan Hotel, Hythe. Amber with a thin white head; sweet corn syrup aroma; quite full bodied, clean and slightly sweet but with good bitterness, and a dry finish. Better than I expected.
