Description
Mad Hatter Brewing Company was set up by Gaz and Sue in 2013, with just one grand in their back pockets, and a glorified home brew set up. The brewery has always punched above its weight, and was championed from the start by the brilliant Port St Beer House. They produce weird and wonderful beers alongside some classic pale ales, stouts and IPAs.

Can gifted 7 years ago from Ian Simpson. Drank at home. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small transient beige head. There’s a heady aroma of sweet malts, milk chocolate, fudge and some herbal hints. In the mouth the alcoholic strength is immediately obvious – and so is the barrel aged (can aged ??) smokiness. Underneath this the flavour is somewhat bitter with floral hops and citrus leanings plus chocolate and marmalade. Finish is bitter and rather boozy. Awesome !
