Old rating - A 750 ml bottle picked up from the brewery in 2015. As everything else from this brewery, it's an outstanding barley wine with lovely ageing of oak. Different bottle of beer in my home No. 1945

Sample at the roost of all places. Clear gold, streaky white head. Nose has chrysanthemum and dandelion, grist, wheat and some butter. Easy in the mouth, just soft grain and yeast and bread. Light but a nice texture. Lovely and an easy drinker. Can't believe I haven't rated this.

On tap at Het Lagerhuys. Pours hazy dull gold with an off-white head. Estery nose, lots of coriander, white pepper, spices, herbal grass on the nose. Flavour has a dry Belgian yeast expression, cloves, white pepper, spices, herbal grass. Very drinkable with a potent and well-handled yeast expression.
