Description

Cork popped and rapid foam streamed out of the bottle. Quickly poured into a tumbler. Horseblanket with hazy cider appearance. Thin, constant head. Sour, bitter taste -- like sour patch kid without the sweet turn. Citrus rinds. Fizzy with a lasting sour finish. Refreshing

Foxy-amber, totally clear beer with slim off-white head. Rotting nose, caramel, rotting meat, wood (also...), cardboard. Slight sourish edge around wood, cardboard, and quite some caramel(syrup) sweetness. Not really cloying, but still... Slick, but not oversyrupy MF. Very ho-hum faro, can do much better; the nose is revolting.

Bottle. Dirty gold colour thickish white head. Farmyardy lemon aroma, some sourness. In mouth fine, with more sour lemon and funkyness. Finish has more of the same. Bit of an aquired taste. Not as extreme as same. Lemony acids balance the funkyness. Fine and quite interesting. Not sure I’d want more than one of these a week though. 3.6/5.0. Re-rate Christmas Day 2008. First beer of the day and what a way to start. So drinkable it is untrue. The farmyard, bretty aroma, the lemon flavours, the mouthfeel is soft and just right with a little fullness from the carbonation. Refreshing. Would have this as my first beer of the day, in the middle and at the end. Almost as good as the bottle at the Waterhuis in Gent pre-Zythos 2008 that is the best I’ve ever had.

Golden color; giant head, very lively bottle. The aroma is very strange: old cellar, with some plastic, magnesia and a hint of citrus fruits. The first sip is mellower than expected, then the real character comes out, being more astringent than sour, with a final touch of grapefruit.
It’s quite different from the other Gueuze, but maybe not really complex and unforgettable.

Bottle from Utobeer, Attractive scarlet colour with pink lasting head. Intense raspberry jam aroma. Expect it to be sicly sweet, but the hit of sourness that comes in later, balances it. Good integrated fruit. Real fruit flavour, not artificial. You can really taste the pips on this. Some vanilla raspberry ripple ice cream-esque. Wonderful quality fruit lambic

Bottle Blew its cork and erupted tan foam all over my kitchen. The remaining %20 of the 375ML bottle had very nice cidery aromas of apples, pears ets. Cloudy, orange light tan color.and a short lived lively head. Flavor was the expected dry sour flavor common to the style. I’m afraid a bit too much sediment was in with the last couple ounces in my sampling. A nice tart and, yes, quenching brew. Thanks to Degarth for slipping this top 50 ber in my box today.

Dark orange nearly opaque, with a short lived champagne like head. This is an intense gueuze that attacks the palate and the throat with good, but strange spontaneously fermented weirdness; it actually made me cough a few times. Powerful eye watering aroma that includes wheat, yeast, and juniper. Powerful flavor. Sour, light citrus, herbs, and more yeast. Strange slimy sediment that doesn’t harm the flavor.

Red color; huge pink head, rather explosive bottle. Aroma of mature raspberries, sweet. Sour and quite astringent, delicate fruitness. The final is too bitter and astringent. Not impressive.
