Description
Brasserie Caracole Brewing Company is a small brewery located in a small town of Falmignoul, Wallonia in Southern Belgium. It is home to the last of the wood-fired brewing kettles in Europe. Their limited technology, elbow grease style of brewing makes them an incredibly romantic and fantastic brewery. Its name was derived from a spiral snail shell that is translated into ‘Caracole.’ Since its establishment, the Brasserie Caracole Brewery has been distributing beers to various countries like France, Belgium, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Belgium and Japan. It is famous for four traditional Belgian beers; the Prancing, the Troublette, the Sax and the Nostradamus. All four beers are bottle undergo bottle conditioning where they go through second fermentation with yeast in the bottle. This special type of fermentation has allowed for outstanding flavors and quality of beers to be produced by Brasserie Caracole Brewery.

The aroma is slightly sweet and yeasty. The color is an unclear dark yellow and it has a small head. The flavor is dominated by a malt sweetness and it prickles the tongue (probably the 8% ABV). It has a faint note of fruit, but no bitterness, instead it ends on a dryness. It has a good palate.

Orange to light amber color. Strange aroma, flowery and soapy. Reasonable body, but without any remarkable characteristic.

The aroma is slightly sweet with notes of yeast, redcurrant, and other berries. The color is an unclear red, and it has a small fast disappearing head. The flavor is very sweet, soft, yeasty, and complex - yet boring - it misses some kick (it is too soft). Not a beer that I'll go back for.

Slightly hazy yellow color, medium-sized longlasting head. Very carbonating. Aroma is grainy and a bit spicy. Taste is more complex than aroma, spicy, grainy, little sourness even. Palate is a bit alcoholic sometimes, but just the right amount. Very good triple style brew.

Very cloudy pale yellow color, big lasting head. Spicy, sour very citrussy nose. Yeasty notes also. Spicy and very citrussy flavor, almost like fresh lemon juice. But very good. Refreshing lingering citrus palate.

Bright amber. Quite thick head, stable. Nose with ambrée malt, caramel, nutty, herbal. Taste gives caramel, liqueurish, Amer Picon, ginger. Sweetness is balanced by the spicyness of the brew. Retronasal vegetable as fried carrots. Quite well-bodied. Velvety mouthfeel. Long lasting spicey-sweet liquerish flavour. Nice brew. I like most beers by La Caracole - as well as their labels.
