Description

330ml bottle thanks to my secret santa. Pours golden Amber, thin foamy white head, aroma lightly sweet malt. Taste has an admirable dort under sweetness, grainy hints, generally quite clean, gentle bitterness, good drinkability.

0.33 l bottle from the brewery, best before April 2020. Clear, dark amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly malty, moderately grassy-spicy aroma of caramel, toasted nuts and a touch of straw. Slightly sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently grassy-spicy taste of caramel, toasted nuts and some straw, followed by a short, gently bitter, moderately grassy-spicy and a little roasty finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Okay.

A fruity, even a bit malty sweet kind of alt. The normal bitterness that can be found in the traditional Düsseldorfer alts just isn’t there. A bit hopbitter aftertaste, that’s all. Still, this beer tastes good. Bottle from Dortmunder.

Orange color, cloudy with large chunks of yeast. Citric, slightly herbal aroma and flavor. Thin. Touch of yeast. Pear. Not the prime of the pack, but quite drinkable.

Bottle from Dortmunder, with my thanks. Pale colored. Cake dough aroma. Sweetish and malty, somewhat alcoholic. A slight hoppiness. Stony. Only medium bodied but with a thick mouthfeel. Tastes good, but by no means perfect.

Bottle from Dortmunder: thanks! Malt and caramel in the aroma. Malty, sweetish flavor with grapes, caramel, just a touch of hops and licorice. Tasty and likeable, but perhaps too soft to make a real impression.

Deep dark color. Sweet, thin but syrupy. Sugary. No unpleasant by-flavors. Just a low alcohol restorer that does its job well after some hard work or exercise.
