Description
In 1992, Paul Theakston took a daring leap into the unknown. As a fifth generation brewer of his family company, he chose to leave T&R Theakstons following its sale to a national brewery. Instead, he chose to champion independent brewing in Yorkshire and built his own brewery in the very same town, Masham. The brewhouse contains a mixture of tradition and innovation, using the Yorkshire Square Fermentation system which we hold dearly. Our original brewhouse was built from reclaimed equipment which we still use to this day.

Bottle 50cl. from Kelly's Expat Shopping @home poured into a pint glass. Malty nose. Clear pale amber colour, good moussy white head, good retention and lacing. Aroma sweet malt, grain, caramel, honey, earthy notes. Grassy hops. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, caramel, some honey, biscuit, citrus peel. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, mild malty sweetbitter aftertaste, caramel, husky notes, semi-dry in the finish, bit peppery on the tongue, nice.

(270724) 0,2l on tap @ One Pint Pub (as the Holy Grail). Pours clear amber with a medium head. Aroma is clean bitter malts. Flavor is clean bitter malts with some fruity notes and a hoppy finish. Good. (647414) (181024) Re-rate. A small taste @ the flagship Alko, press blind tasting. Pours slightly cloudy copper with a medium off-white head. Aroma is toasted malts, some dark fruits, some alcohol. Flavor is thin and dry toasted malts, some bitter herbs, hops. Not my cup of tea.
