Draft. A deep red beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet matly with notes of fruit and yeast - reminds me of the yeast used at Apollo. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of straw and light notes of fruit and bread, leading to a lightly bitter finish. Not much Saison over this beer, I find it boring.

Draught at Lord Nelson.Black colour with small brown head.Aroma is mild rosted and slight smoked and a hint of chocolate and caramel,smooth short finish.

On tap. Pours a clear amber with a white head. Sweetish, fruity nose with a whiff of butter. Medium body, sweetish fruit and caramel. Lightly bitter finish. Not much Saison character here, this is a rather bland Belgian Ale. 080409

Cloudy amber with a firm and lasting white head. Sweet and fruity aroma with caramel notes. Very sweet and malty flavour. Sadly, too straightforward, and it lacks the spicy complexity I was looking for. A decent amber ale, but not much of a saison...

Bottle, 75cl corked, from trade with Papsoe. It pours a clear, dark golden body under a minimal-sized beige head. Caramel, some alcohol and dried fruits in the aroma, maybe a bit boring. The flavor is much the same, with caramel, sugars, some roasted malt and a fine bitterness. Not as boring, but much the same. Finishes with a fine bitterness. Full-bodied and warming. A quite decent beer, but it’s a bit one-dimentional. (090327)

From tap at Ølbaren. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Yeasty, spiced and slight butterish aroma. Sweet caramel malt flavoured and light orange to citrus fruity. Yeasty and sweet finish. Lasting fruity impression.

Bottle 50cl. @ home.Clear medium amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, flowers, queasy sweet aroma. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average duration, old malty. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081124]

(Draught at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen, 13 Feb 2009) Reddish amber colour with brief, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, dark fruit and some citrussy hops. Malty taste with notes of caramel, dark fruit and an almost too balanced citrussy bitterness in the finish. Fairly balanced beer, but I would expect some more hops from an IPA.

tap at lord nelson. ar: spicy, darkish aroma, faint, faint dark fruits. no hops. not IPA, but i rate to taste,not to style. appears dark amber, small offwhite head. flavor is back in the ipa league, with loads of caramel. honey, roasted sugar, malts, hops, this is truly strange, but sort of tasty.
