From tap. Pours dark brown to black with a diminished tan head. Aroma is roasted maltand light smoked too. Sweet and breadish dry malty a with nice smoked note shwoing through. Bitter and roasted on the back of the tongue. Light liqourice note too. Ends dry and lingering roasted with a note of smoke on the back of the nose.

Bottle 33cl @ home. Clear medium amber brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, nutty, caramel, chocolate, berry. From tap at Plan B. Pours hazy orange with a lacing white head. Hoppy and yeasty aroma, pleasant mix yet also a bit muddy. Medium sweet flavour and towards spiced hoppy with a mellow yeasty note beneath, again a bit in several directions. Smooth finish with a lurking light bitterness coming out of the yeast base flavour.

Darkr colour with medium head.Aroma is sweet and hoppy and with some taste of caramel and nuts.Light bitter finish.

Draught at Lord Nelson.Dark brown colour with small head.Aroma of tosted bread and rasins nice sweet mouth feels and well balanced really nice beer.

From tap at Lord Nelson. Pours hazy brown with a lacing white head. Mild fruity and caramel to munich malt aroma. Flavour is smooth fruity with a nice caramel and munich malt flavour and a yeast presence. Lingering malty finish with a lasting yeasty touch.

500 ml bottle. Clear amber body with a disappearing off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, hops and a hint of orange. Flavor is quite sweet, some caramel, a fruity bitterness (like the white stuffer under orange peel) and a hint of hops and spices. Long, sweet and gentle bitter finish. Not totally great, but interesting and well worth a try.

500 ml bottle, now available in Norway at Vinmonopolet. ABV is 6.0%. Ingredients include 2% orange flower honey, E223 and E300. Golden brown colour, big light tan head with an orangey hue. Unusual and initially interesting aroma of orange peel, spices, oak, fermenting fruits and apple cider vinegar, then some less pleasant "industrial" and sulphurous notes take over. The flavour has caramel and some honey sweetness, with notes of orange peel and undefined fruits. Very little bitterness. Props to Grauballe for brewing unusual beers, but this one doesn’t blow my socks off.

Hazy yellow color, no head. Limonade-like orange aroma. Fizzy, fruity, orange-flavored. Crisp, a bit yeasty. Refreshing, but not really "monk-like".
