Description
On a small abandoned farm back in 2002 William Frank and Else Birk started a small brew house focusing on quality and good craftsmanship. The brewery was not far from where the Grauballe man (a bog body that was uncovered in 1952 from a peat bog) was found - hence the name Grauballe Bryghus.
Grauballe Bryghus was in these premises until the year 2013. By then it had grown so big that it was time to move to larger premises where it is today.

Bottle picked up somewhere in Denmark 2008 This was the label of the beer I had (noted that there was a 2008 version) Pours dark brown, touch sour but then I got a little sourness, bit dry, its ok think we got it because Loz liked the lab.

Draft. A brown beer with medium, collapsing tan. Sweet malty with notes of brown sugar and herbs. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of herbs as well as medium notes of brown sugar and roasted malt, leading to a dry bitter and herbal finish.

(On tap) Pours almost black with an orange hue and a beige head. Very burned malty aroma with a distinct smoky note. Medium body with sweetish roasted malt and vanilla - and plenty of smoke and tar. Some malt bitterness. Not really a Schwarzbier but excellent indeed. 140908

500ml bottle from Barley Wine, Copenhagen. Pours a beautiful black body under a dark, beige head. Slightly roasted malts in aroma with hints of berries. Interesting taste of juniper berries, nougat, almond and sweet chocolate. Bitter malts and anise towards the finish. Quite dry in the mouth. A very decent, unusual stout. (Hotel Danmark, 17.09.2008).
