Description
On a small abandoned farm back in 2002 William Frank and Else Birk started a small brew house focusing on quality and good craftsmanship. The brewery was not far from where the Grauballe man (a bog body that was uncovered in 1952 from a peat bog) was found - hence the name Grauballe Bryghus.
Grauballe Bryghus was in these premises until the year 2013. By then it had grown so big that it was time to move to larger premises where it is today.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a slight haze under a medium bubbly tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of hops and grapefruit - is it Cascade? as well as notes of malt, caramel, and light spices. The flavor is sweet and very spice - cinnamon and cloves, on a malty and caramel back ground, leading to a dry spicy finish where the hops mixes in with a slight touch of grapefruit.

Draft at Ølfestival, Århus, 2008. An unclear brown beer with a tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, roasted malt, and nuts. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, nuts, and roasted malt, but also with an accent of alcohol, leading to a nutty finish.

aroma is acid, i expected some kind of fruit, the flavor is sort of watered out, or weak, i miss strength and body. better than my score, but for a stout it’s kinda sorta waterish+++

500 ml bottle. Slightly hazy orange body with a small white head. Lovely, fresh aroma of citrus/grapefruit. Flavor is refreshing as well – malt and hops. Not exactly complex, but refreshing and nice.
