Cask at Five Lamps, Derby. Pours a rich ruby with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. Malts to the fore in the aroma, plus some fruity hints. In the mouth it is slightly sweet with a little underlying bitterness. Flavour has malts, autumn fruits and nuts with traces of spice and ginger coming through later. Fruitiness lasts into the finish to some extent. This is quite nice – not brilliant but better than the award winning Ay Up !

Rocky white head on an unclear copper coloured body. Fruity, malt & sliced fruit aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a sharp back. Sweet malt, stone fruits, peppery & lightly hopped tastes with a tangy finish. Nice enough.

Cask at the Pup & Duckling, Solihull. Poured a mostly clear golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is big malt. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a smooth, malt, yeasty, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at Exeter Arms, Derby. Pours a pale straw with a small almost white head and excellent lacing. There’s a strong aroma of floral hops lus some piney hints. Floral hops again in the mouth where it is slightly sweet and zesty. Quite a bbit of both lemon and lime with some traces of tangerine too – but not overdosed on citrus. Finish is slightly sharp. This is quite decent – much better than I was expecting.
