23/8/2023. Cask at the 44th Peterborough Beer Festival. Pours clear golden amber with a small frothy white head. Aroma of orange, marmalade, straw, malt, spicy edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Quite fine.

Fra cask på GBBF aug-23: brunsvart med fint skum som varer. Lys kaffe, mørke chokolader og milde urter. Velbalansert, slank og meget lettdrikkelig med passelig mørkrøstet maltkropp.

330ml bottle from Mitchells Wines Meadowhead - deep black body with a little ring of tan foam. Nose is fairly sweet whisky notes, easy going taste, blackcurrant and liquorice sweets, little smoke from the barrel. Nice enough.

Cask at Exeter Arms, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a sizeable cream head. Malts to the fore in the aroma, plus some general fruitiness. Malts again in the mouth, where it is smooth and creamy. Fairly sweet with fruity undertones and traces of cola, chocolate and caramel. This is rather nice.

Cask at the Thirsty Giraffe, Deeping St James. Pale golden colour with a white head. Aroma and taste are citrus and light pine. Sweetish taste. Slight crispy body.

Creamy tan head on still black body. Malt, dark chocolate & fruity aroma. Medium bodied, creamy with a dry back. Sweet malt, chocolate, berries & roasted tastes with a bitter finish. Excellent Oatmeal Stout.
