Cask at Great Derbyshire Beer Festival. Pours a hazy golden brown with a msall frothy white head. Some vanilla and malts in the aroma. More bitter and fruity to start with in the mouth, with some hints of ginger. After a while sweetness and malts come through to dominate. This is decent. It has a bit of character – unlike a lot of golden ales.

# 2806; 3/2022. Roasty, earthy aroma, white coffee. Opaque dark brown body, persistant lacing tany head. Roasty, earthy, herbal, milk chocolate, nutty. Very good oatmeal stout. 0,5 l, bottle, supermarket, Belper (Midland, England).

Cask at Exeter Arms, Derby. Pours a golden yellow that is slow to settle, with a minimal white head and good lacing. A strange mix of malts (mainly) and tropical fruits in the aroma. In the mouth this starts of sweet with soft carbonation, but some bitterness creeps in later. Flavour is mainly floral hops and biscuits, but with hints of lemon and apricot. Finish is slightly bitter. This is OK, but not one of the brewery’s best

Cask at Exeter Arms, Derby. Pours near black with a creamy beige cap. Aroma: toasted porridge oats, dark chocolate, coffee. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, dark chocolate, mocha, charr, liquorice hints. Dry finish. Medium body with fine carbonation. Lovely oatmeal stout

Cask at Exeter Arms, Derby. Pours clear gold with a creamy white cap. Light & fruity with some pleasant citrus notes. Light sweet & bitter, clean, semi dry, light hoppy finish. Light body with fine carbonation. Pretty tasty for a golden ale, so often a dull style.

Cask at the Exeter Arms Derby.. A clear amber orange coloured pour, sticky white head. Aroma is earthy, sweaty hop grass, hedgerow hop, bready. Flavour is composed of semi sweet. Sweaty hop, grass, pine. Palate is semi sweet, grassy, moderate carbonation. Ok.

Cask at the Exeter Arms, Derby, 11/02/22. Clear golden amber with a decent just off white head ...good lacing ensues. Nose is biscuit malt, grass, stewed fruits, grains. Taste comprises biscuit malt, fruit rinds, grains, bready notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light bitter edge. Not bad.
