(Can) Pours hazy golden with small white head. Interesting and pleasant aroma. Fruity - mango and guava juice, over-ripe fruit - and some interesting hints of maybe musk. Medium body with good bright carbonation. Taste is very nice and quite unusual. There’s a lot of fruitiness up front and in the mid palate. Again mango and guava, but with citrus and some gentle sweetness. However there’s some peppery bitterness from the start that grows through the palate giving a nice bitter finish. Very clever, and very enjoyable.

(Can) Pours black with a small tan head. Very nice aroma with notes of toast and candy and some floral hints. Full bodied, smooth with soft creamy carbonation. Great taste with dried fruit, roast nuts, some pleasant bitterness in the finish. Excellent.

(Can) Pours hazy straw with tiny loose white head. Pleasant aroma of pine with citrus hints. Medium body with plenty of carbonation. Taste is refreshing citrus up front, but rather flat and watery afterwards, albeit with some nice but restrained hop bitterness. Easy drinking.

Schooner on tap at Beverly Hills Hotel, NSW. Pours a very pale yellow with a thin white crown of foam. Faint aroma of lemon and malt. High fine carbonation. Light body, smooth texture. Taste and finish are lightly bitter and fruity, even a touch of sherbet in the short finish. Very reminiscent of Stone & Wood Pacific Ale.

Can. Pretty much black with an inch of tan head that never quite disappears. Aroma of burnt toffee, whisky, mocha, vanilla. Biscotti. Leans more to spirit than stout than I like, but good. Perhaps slightly thinned, certainly not syrupy. Moderately sweet with roast and toffee given only a cursory time out front before whisky, oak and bitterness charge through towards the end. The end hums along for a long while. Doesn't hide its strength but is drinkable for it. Very good.

500ml can. Yellow and opaque. Smells like pineapple juice. Tastes like pineapple and grapefruit. Somewhat chewy. Pretty well executed.

Can. Dark brown with a light tan head. Spicy aroma - cardamon, cloves, cinnamon, coriander seed - with caramel and a surprising banana note. Thinnish and that's a problem because it's pretty spicy (not chilli hot) and the palate just collapses on the spices and the whole thing seems mean. A bit of a miss.

Can. Dark brown with a good cm of beige head. Aroma of freshly cut grass, grapefruit, gooseberries, caramel, floaty mocha. Barely medium bodied but there's a pointedness to the malt presence that nicely supports the fruity and somewhat resinous hops. The finish has a little roast, moderate bitterness and some spices. Very good.

Can. Black with a tan head that fades to a cm. Modest aroma of mocha, dried bananas (!), brioche. Full bodied and smooth - I guess some lactose is involved. Fairly sweet with lots of coffee, dark sugars, some licorice, overt alcohol, spices. Quite bitter at the end. Better as it warmed but it's wearing where you'd hope for depth.
