Description
Since changing our name from Topsham & Exminster Brewery in 2008, we have expanded ever more rapidly. We now have a fantastic site in Cowley Bridge Road where we have a retail shop and Tap-Room Bar. The Tap-Room is open every Thursday evening from 5pm to 11pm. Curry nights. Every last-Friday of the month the Tap room opens as normal, but we offer a curry, prepared and served by ARC Events. You don’t have to eat, just enjoy a drink, but the curries are great – takeaways available too.

(Cask at Lyric, Soho, London, 2 June 2025) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of apricots, citrus, orange peel and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with apricots, caramel and a balanced herbal/earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Wel balanced bitter. Nice one.

500ml bottle from The Jolly Vintner, Tiverton. Drank at home on 11th July 2025 during a mini-tasting with myself. Poured into my huge 'Judas' glass, it looked lovely, a deep mahogany red with a large foaming crown of khaki bubbles. Strong malty nose and taste, this is the sort of beer I like, malty sweet and rich in body, no citrus fruits within twenty miles and a hint of gritty hops for a semblance of balance. Give me this over a hazy NEIPA every day!

Old notes from Nov 2014 - Brought from the Brewery shop. Pours a deep golden ale with a head that disperses quickly. In the aroma the hoppiness comes though, and a bitterness in the taste. Overall a pint that easy to drink without standing out from the crowd.
