Pours dark orange with a tiny white head. Aroma of sweet fruity bubblegum, malts, sweet caramel and syrup. Taste is sweet and malty with notes of fruity bubblegum, hops, caramel and lots of toffee. Finish is sweet, syrupy, bubblegummy and caramely with some toffee and fruity notes. Still not a big fan of Sorachi Ace, which is quite dominant here.

Pours pitch black with a tiny head. Aroma of lightly peated and roasty malts, salty licorice and hints of ash. Taste is sticky, sweetish and slightly peated with hints of licorice. Finish is sweet and mildly peated with some licorice and sticky notes. Feels a bit light bodied. A bit unbalanced imperial stout.

Taste: Bitter throughout with some citrucy fruitiness in the background.

Appearance: Black color with a small beige head that soon ends up as a thin layer. Some lacing.
Aroma: Dark malty. Coffee and mild chocolate.
Palate: Thick oily body. Slightly sweet and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Coffee, dark malt, chocolate and some grassy notes.
Overall impression: Bang that head that does not bang. Battleaxe battlers will burn forever.

Bottle, Stirchley Wines, Brum. Black pour with a restrained tan head. Roast and dark choc in the nose and flavour. Lively mouthfeel not really in keeping with the style. Dried out towards the finish. Nearly but not quite.
