Bottle from Trafalgar Wines Brighton. Hazy amber thin beige head. I can smell the american hops from here which is a good sign. Resiny aroma. Yes lovely sweet grapefruit. Quite rich. But enjoyable enough. Yes tasty and a good beer in my book in that I wld have been pleased to have brewed it

33cl bottle from Trafalgar Wines, Brighton. Black beer with a lasting dark beige head. Really interested to see what this is going to be like, a Caribbean stout from Italy. Lots of roast chocolate on the aroma. Roasty in the mouth. In fact mostly roast burnt flavour and chocolate. A little grainy, a little meh. I’m not a great stout fan and there is a bit of bonfire smokiness to it I’m not keen on either. Eeek. OK, but not my thing.

33cl bottle from Trafalgar Wines, Brighton. Hazy brown red colour thin beige head. Malty aroma. It’s a malty beer with not much hop. Good quality malt, but still a little one dimensional

Inconspicuous beige (?) head over russet-shot darker brown ale. Quite cheesy USA hops, black chocolate, with faint hints at manure and dark bread. Peppery flavour, if all in all quite mild. Again black chocolate; other spices (allspice, Szechuan,...). Bit of coffee too, and cocoapowder. Rather thinnish body, typical gristslickness filling. Some carbonation present, despite the headless aspect. Not bad, if nothing spectacular nor innovative either.

33 cl bottle thanks to Reza! On January 16, 2013. BB 08.2013.Dark brown color, tan head. Sweet, malty, spicy, herbal, hoppy scent. Herbal, dry, hoppy, bitter taste. Mineral, bitter, resin aftertaste. Spritzy mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Feels a bit thin and weak.

Almost no head over cloudy amber beer. Slight cheesy note from the S.A., cookies with caramel and toffee, pineapple, bit herbal, aromatic. Dry flavour with some hops, and melanoidin-rich malty background. But overlying is a strange, just-not-sourish flavour that somehow seems not right. Together with the utterly flat aspect, and almost ditto MF, I fear something’s amiss here, and not just a headdestructive ABV. Faint fruity notes - pineapple and banana maybe, maybe some preserved orange. Cheesiness is there too, but even less outspoken than in the nose. Quite slick. Not B.I. Elav’s best try, IMO. Maybe just my bottle - bad luck?

31/XII/12 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: VII/13 (2012-1446)
Clear purple brown beer, small irregular beige head, unstable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet exotic fruits, lots of passion fruit, mango, sweet pineapple, some caramel, bit dusty, mocha on warming up. MF: very soft carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, citrus, bit spicy, sweet malts, bready, some caramel. Aftertaste: bitter, piny hops, caramel, bit malty, somewhat fruity, not much though. Weird beer, but not bad at all!
