Description

hazy, golden beer with some carbonation and a nice white head. Smell is sweet fruit and grassy hop. Flavour is really nicely balanced. You've got the clean sweetness you'd expect from a Belgian blonde but the bitterness of the hop counters it to make the whole thing crisp and refreshing but still sweet and tasty without being sickly. Lovely.

Bottled. Pours clear, dark reddish brown with an ivory head that doesn't last long but leaves a lasting thin layer. Aroma is rather subtle: chocolate, cola, cinnamon, caramel. Mouthfeel is fizzy, somewhat watery, easy-drinking, smoky, longer than you'd think. Good.

Pours medium brown, possibly slightly hazy, with a middle-sized dense white head, which shows ok retention and nice lacing. Aroma shows a sweet caramel and slightly sugary base, with notes of dark/dried fruits. Good enough intensity, not too deep. Taste is deeper than the aroma suggested. Sweet entrypoint with caramel and slight sugar (but also showing some toasted notes). Fruit notes of banana and dark/dried fruits, maybe a hint of spiciness. Finish is in perfect balance with a (still clean) earthy aftertaste. Medium to dense in body with medium to dense carbonation, resulting in a quite full but still easy enough mouthfeel. Overall, a very classic dubbel/strong dark, with good complexity and excellent balance.
