2012 edition. Pours unclear, very yeast-flaked , darker blonde. Smell is intense, sweet impression, full, wheat is very clear. Thick and heavy, mild boozy touch even. Taste is full, wheat, bit sharp, rather sweet, fullbodied, lowzer carbo. Mild raisins, medium bitter touch. OK

16 ounce can from Beer Run, 12/29/19. Hazy orange, large frothy khaki head, good retention. Aroma of pale malt, pine, tropical fruit. Taste is orange, mandarin, pale malt, grapefruit, melon. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. Nice old school DIPA (which I miss nowadays).

16 ounce can, 12/27/19. Dark brown, reddish tint, thin fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roast, smoke, chocolate. Taste is chocolate, smoke, roast, lactose. Medium bodied, well balanced.

Bottle shared at the Referend 3rd anniversary celebration. Picked up many moons ago. Pours lightly hazy orange-gold with a foamy, white head. Lots of flowers, lavender, lightly toasted wheat, moderate sweetness. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Sweet finish with nips of candi sugar, bread, more floral character. For the age and what it is, it isn't bad. Certainly a novelty.

Taster pour on tap at NH Brewfest. Appearance is deeply hazy yellow with no sparkle, thin ring of white head. Aroma is cool, green grape, kiwi. Taste is not as pleasant as aroma. There's a fairly strong malty component, like a dark bread, and mild sweet hoppy fruit but only a light bittering, like the hops and malts are competing to see which is sweeter but not enough bitter balance. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thin, smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, aroma and flavor are on the mild-to-moderate side but this leans to sweet without enough bitter balance.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from trade with johnnnniee--thanks, John! Appearance is hazy dark brown (burgundy with light source directly behind) with areas of decent sparkle at the edges of the glass, 1/2-finger with beige head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is earthy toasted malts, bordering on burnt, with hints of chocolate. Taste is dominant earth over slightly smoky roasted malt with virtually no chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick, frothy texture, soft carbonation and dry finish as taste. Overall, a disappointing lack of chocolate for a chocolate stout and the dry, earthy qualities similar to European stouts is not my favorite. Skippable.

Pours clear gold into a tulip. Bright white soapy head with medium retention recedes to mottle surface. Dark caramel and sourdough aromas. Dank sour tropical fruit skin and resin upfront turning to sweet caramel in the medium length finish.
