Heretic Brewing Company
Microbrewery
in Fairfield,
California,
United States 🇺🇸
Associated Venue: Heretic Brewing Company
Established in 2011
We started by sharing a building with another brewery in 2011, but we always brewed our beer ourselves. Within the first six months we realized there wasn’t enough space for two breweries in one building, so we began the search for a new place. By 2013, we had built a new, modern brewery in the wonderful city of Fairfield, California and moved all our operations there, including our new distillery.

16 oz. can from Total Wine. Pours a clear, dark cherry cola color with a large beige head and great retention. Great lacing too. Milk chocolate aroma. Milk chocolate and dark malt flavor too, with a darker, bitter chocolate dry finish. Only a hint of hazelnut flavor. Nice balance of sweet and bitter chocolate flavors. Medium-heavy, creamy mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Light bitterness. Very good and smooth. The 7.0% ABV is well hidden.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours translucent gold with a decent amount of white head. Aroma is fruity - white berry and melon. Med body. Flavor is the aroma with the addition of citrus zest. Pomelo. Somewhat juicy. Towards dry tho. Moderately bitter. Middle of the road - but tastier than many.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours bright, clear gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is lightly bready with some Noble hop. Med body or nearly. Seems crisp and clean. LIght breadiness with grass/spice. Does the job nicely.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours clear gold with a large creamy white head. Aroma is dank resin with lots of green/herb. Approaching full bodied. Rather malty, so not so dry as might be desired, but the dank/resin/greenstuff (not to mention heat) renders this well into malty but quite bitter. Excellent flavor.

deep golden color. Thick syrupy sweet malty nose with biscuity, citrus and some tropica fruit notes. Heavy palate, grinding bitterness. Big bad ass and not too boozy. Not really that great depth but overall good

Yea, another cheap can of IPA, how about that? Never thought you’d find another IPA didjah huh? Didjah? Heheheh. Pop the lid and its foaming all over the place. Look is just a tad darker than pale. Odd, off, almost weird, unattractive farmy pine sap nose; not really appealing to the olfactory. First taste impressions is that of a big bitter rodent ass, almost imperial, mouth coating IPA. Yea, a little unnaturally sharp pointed bitter, even for a good IPA. It has a tiny amount of the brutal bitter bite that signals me of an immature brewer - er sumthin. I’m getting a little co2 in there. At least there is some carbonation to distract me from the fact that I don’t like this; but hey, I don’t like IPA anyway. Its just a tick. Can’t pass up a mixed six of IPA brews for only $9! Go figger. Ipa are so frequent, they can’t even make a dime on em anymore. Will the IPA wave ever quit? Seems like they just keep making the same IPAs but rebrand them just so you’ll try em. There, you have it; another fricken of a quadrillion possible IPA out there.

16 oz. can from Total Wine - Naples, FL. Pours a dark brown-black color with a beige head and good retention. Decent spotty lacing. Aroma of light chocolate and coffee creamer. The flavor is more dark roasted than the aroma, and has much more sweet caramel and vanilla notes, and just a hint of coffee. Very smooth and clean. Medium-heavy body. Medium-light carbonation. Low bitterness. Very tasty.
