Description
It all started with a neighbor sharing a homemade beer. Liz saw how excited Jamil was and bought him a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas. Jamil became obsessed with brewing the perfect beer and became a homebrew legend in the process by winning a first-place medal in every known beer, mead, and cider style category. Eventually, his passion to brew was too strong and Jamil and Liz decided to take the plunge and open Heretic Brewing Company.
We started by sharing a building with another brewery in 2011, but we always brewed our beer ourselves. Within the first six months we realized there wasn’t enough space for two breweries in one building, so we began the search for a new place. By 2013, we had built a new, modern brewery in the wonderful city of Fairfield, California and moved all our operations there, including our new distillery.

Can ordered from Malt Miller, Swindon. Aroma is sweet and creamy - hazelnut and chocolate = praline. Dark and glossy. Foamy beige head. Medium bitter. Chocolate and coffee with a nutty streak. Bitterness amps up into the finish with a hint of dark berries. Peripheral burnt caramel throughout. Light-medium bodied. Thin but creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. Nutty, man.

Can ordered from Malt Miller, Swindon. Aroma is resinous with a citrus underbelly. Opaque dark orange. Thin creamy white head. Two tiers of bitterness - Medium bitterness with a marmalade edge and spice. A more heavy boozy more resinous bitter below this. The sugariness does a bunny hop into the finish before the bitter booze rears its head again. Medium bodied. Slick. Creamy. Soft carbonation. Long astringent finish. Lovely bitter marmalade stuff. Seems to also have a warming affect.

(Bottle, taster, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 4 Dec 2021) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with mango, orange, pineapple, tropical fruit and pine needles. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of tropical fruit, mango, pineapple, orange peel, apricots and a balanced citric, tropical bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and refreshing. Very nice.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours lightly hazy gold with a large frothy white head. Aroma seems tangerine/citrus. Approaching med body. Flavor is mostly tangerine for me. Juicy but not very sweet. Bitter enough to get the job done. Malt is very light. Refreshing.

Ridiculously hazy light golden coloured body with a very thick, three to four centimetre tall just off-white head, but the body is super hazy and around ninety-five per cent opaque. Aroma of alcohol, citrus fruit, resin, white pepper, resin and a lot of pungent and astringent notes, with some nice malts in the nose. Medium to Full-bodied; Very rich malts dominate with a strong grassy and dryness along with rich, resinous, grassy and citrusey hops, but the peppery, spicey and alcohol bitterness really hits the hardest here. Aftertaste is fairly rich and pungent, with a great balance, but deep bite from the hop bitterness, dryness and alcohol, especially but some tiny doses of sweetness makes it through, as does a bit of pine, metallic twang and a lot of malt body still on the end. Overall, a nice, very strong and pungent beer that has a great haziness, strong bitterness and good dry, bitter and balanced beer that does show 8,5 per cent, but the flavours and complexity make it worthwhile. Nice to sample this without heading out to San Francisco and still very fresh! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Corner Store, Bait & Tackle in West Palm Beach, Florida on 14-February-2021 for US$5,29 sampled at my house here in Washington on 08-March-2021.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours translucent gold with a transient white head. Aroma of citrus/pine, pale stone fruits and caramel. Med plus body. Flavor is bitter, nigh dank, citrus pine with pale stone fruits, and arguably weed supported by discernible caramel. Not dry, but not sweet. Extremely bitter, but nice malt support. Likely deadly.

Orange caramel color with a medium sized head that left decent lacing. Sweet and malty with cookie, cocoa, caramel and a bit of fruit. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth
