Description
It all started with a neighbor sharing a homemade beer. Liz saw how excited Jamil was and bought him a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas. Jamil became obsessed with brewing the perfect beer and became a homebrew legend in the process by winning a first-place medal in every known beer, mead, and cider style category. Eventually, his passion to brew was too strong and Jamil and Liz decided to take the plunge and open Heretic Brewing Company.

We started by sharing a building with another brewery in 2011, but we always brewed our beer ourselves. Within the first six months we realized there wasn’t enough space for two breweries in one building, so we began the search for a new place. By 2013, we had built a new, modern brewery in the wonderful city of Fairfield, California and moved all our operations there, including our new distillery.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brn/blk with a large creamy/foamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate and vanilla. Med body or better. Flavor is vanilla, chocolate, lactose and smooth, lightly burnt malt. Not dry, lightly bitter. Somehow I'm not parsing the caramel. Ah well.

Honey sweetness plus big boozy DIPA feel there too. Like it!

Can. Black body under a dense tan head. Nice, strong aroma of dark malt, chocolate and hazelnut. Taste is sweet but not unbalanced sweet, dark malt, nut cream and chocolate. Fine body and same aftertaste. Sure a nice one, but not much going on really besides the obvious, like confectionery.

Another can o' beer from kahlikfornika. Yep, a lot of fornication goin on over there at the west coast, a whole lottah. Pour is nearly clear pale, just an ever so slight haze. Neutral olfactory. Taste is off hay like. Yes, perhaps has some of the attributes of a macro lager. Its nearly palatable like many mass produced brews. Not bad for a plain old american lager and as a hellis? Well it may be a little less hellis in personality and a little more toward cheap pale. Not bad but I can buy similar american pale beers for 40 cents a can, and this cost $2.25, go figger. In the end I think this may be more a like a cream or light golden lager.

Very dark brown pour. It smells of chocolate and roast malt. The flavor is sweet with obvious chocolate, a little nutty flavor, malt, and minimal hops. It's good though I was expecting something a little more robust.

Pours mostly clear amber-gold. It has a big resinous hop aroma. The flavor is a resinous hop bomb with a solid malt backbone, some citrus, and some boozy character, which is to be expected at 11.6%. It's intense and really tasty. Excellent brew.

440ml can from Farmers Bar, Subang Jaya, Malaysia. Poured a clear copper colour with a short-lived frothy white head. The aroma is toffee caramel, cookie dough and chocolate. The flavour is strong sweet, with a rich, oily, warm, boozy, toffee, light chocolate palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Not so bad at the end of the day but I can’t help thinking there isn’t a whole lot of difference between a super cheap burning boozy, Belgian brewed, malt liquor and this, apart from a ton of chocolate chip cookies added at the back end.

Pours black with a large tan head.Nose shows caramel, coffee, roasted malt, sultanas, and honeycomb.Sweet flavours, a lot more caramel, roasted malt, chocolate, and am overwhelming big lactose sweetness making it taste like Fantales confectionery rather than beer.High carbonation doesn't really suit the flavours.
