Draft pour at Cairn. Trail themed brewery. Trail themed beer. Trail frequent rater. Fitting. Lights shiny golden pour with a thin halo head. Subtle sweetness aroma with little else to couple with. Very little flavor going on. Crisp I suppose. Apple like grains small.sweetness, and a modest hop finish. So little going on here. Not enough to dislike, but not much to praise either.

Draft pour at Twelve Bar. Pours a dark red with a thick cream foam head and lacing. Sweet, sugary malt and dark fruit. Flavor is hoppy to sit underneath the caramel malt constant. Has a noticeable heat that lingers, but doesn’t come off as boozy. Has a plastic quality. Interesting

Draft at brewery. It’s like an ale-esque lager that needs more lagering. Some hops but booo ring otherwise.

Draft at brewery. Black beer. A faint roast, a bit of a LME feel but otherwise a decent porter. Chewy, thick feeling. Doable.

Draft at brewery. It’s the right color. It’s in the vain of a Scotch ale but I’m not happy with it. It’s very homebrewery with sweetness and still lots of husky malts. Some LME.

Draft pour pint at Cairn. Pours a clear shiny golden color with a thin active fizz head. This is actually a lager, after a lengthy talk with the brewer about how he made a light lager taste so damn good. Correction on the way. Fresh hops centered aroma, which was a pleasant feature. Flavor is crisp, and extremely refreshing. Hop character dominates here. Session lager that drinks more like an IPA. Hints of apple late. Overall a clean, hoppy, well executed lager. I had a couple. Won’t be my last. Headlining lager here.

Draft 12 oz pour at Cairn. Clear shiny golden pour with an active fizz head. Aroma is fruity, but mild. Flavor is floral up front, with a good hint of spice throughout. Good carb. A bit soapy on the back end. Some sweet lemon. Overall a refreshing saison. I thought it was cool to have a Kenmore brewer do an IPA finally. Now a saison? I’m a fan.

Draft pour pint at Cairn during their grand opening. Reddish near black pour with almost no head. Faint aroma of roasted malt. Flavor is mostly porter standard. Very clean though. Toasty malt and a lighter cresmy, soft chocolate finish. Pretty good stuff.
