500ml can from Scotmid. Pours clear copper with a fast-vanishing of-white head. Aromas of dark sugar and butterscotch. Taste is sweet with a light herbal note. Thin body, medium carbonation. Astringent finish. Meh.

Fills the glass with amber color (more orangey undertone) and a small white head with no retention to speak of. The aroma is combination of malts, some woody and grassy aroma and just a pinch of that whisky aroma (could be just imagining it). The taste starts nicely with a very moderate bitterness. The body is balanced and finishes with a minimal amount of sweetness (whisky-like). Very nice, enjoyable and smooth. Could have a couple more.

Sampled on draft at Pipers this beer poured a dark amber color with a large creamy-fluffy white head that lingered forever and left incredible lacing. The aroma was faintly tangy and sour with hints of citrus and bread. The flavor was tangy and sour with some citrus, a bit of bread and a touch of perfume. Short finish. Medium body. Meh.

Shit, I get to be rater no. 20. Apparently relatively easy to get here. Got it at Vrutak myself for a probably overblown price of around 3€, but I’m hardly blaming the importer an the store. More (true) amber than golden I’d say. Had a medium sized white head, but that went away fast. Fizzy. So they actually aged a random lager in or with whiskey oak. Oookaaay? The aroma’s buttery and in that way vaguely whiskey-like. Dusty, sweetish, slightly flowery even in a way. Taste... ok, what I’m getting here is a crap base with a (kinda) nice buttery whiskey note, soft, light, but marred by the carbonation bite. Slightly muted bitterish aftertaste. The definition of one-dimensional. Ah, f*ck it, by itself, it’s not a bad drink, but it seems like something bad received a "royal" treatment.

On tap at Berts Bar but couldn’t find where it was brewed so thanks to allmyvinyl for adding it. Appearance - golden with a decent head and steady carbonation. Nose - sweet lemon with a tangy edge. Taste - more lemon almost lemon meringue. Creamy background note. Palate - medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a finish that is a little sweet and cloying. Overall - too sweet for a pils but have had worse.

Keg at Slouch, Glasgow. Pale lager, thick white head, high carbonation. Branded glassware. A triumph of style over substance - feels like I’m drinking nothing at all. Bland and inoffensive.

Keg and can. Clear golden body with a thick white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of pale malt, minerals and a hint of sweetcorn. Flavour is exactly the same as the aroma - it’s not inoffensive, but there’s just nothing to it. Thin body with a watery texture. Light fizz. Overall, this is just a standard macro-brewed lager. The only real plus is that it’s Scottish, which is why (most of the time) I’d choose it over the equally bland usual suspects such as Stella Artois, Fosters and Peroni. I still maintain it’s the best looking lagers out there.

Bottle 330ml.Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, molasses, sweet malt, light chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, earthy, chocolate, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20131229]

A very dark brown beer with a dense, medium and light brown head. The nose is quite sweet, dark bread, sugar from south, hint of roastiness. Not very convincing aroma. Taste is also quite sweet and sugary, but not so strogn as aroma, dark bread, peel of bread, some roastiness, some harsh herbs in the end. Slightly better when warmer. Light+ bodied, medium carbonation. This beer is not inspirating at all, too sweet and not balanced.
