Cask @ Paramount, Manchester. Deep ruby ale with a creamy head. Has hops but plenty of winter fruits giving it a very balanced taste for a Christmas ale. Its nose has very light malts and a small sweetness with a general smoothness in its character.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - pretty close to opaque black with just the tiniest of red chinks around the glass. Big creamy head. Nose - very dark chocolate and caramel. Just a hint of coffee. Taste - caramel melded with liquorice. Some dark chocolate comes through on the end. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - very enjoyable.

Cask at the Post Office Vaults; clear light copper pour with a bubbly magnolia head, fruit and malt aroma, taste has light citrus, some hints of malt, tangerine.

Cask @ The Commercial Inn, Sowerby Bridge. Clear golden with a small creamy head. Fairly strong tasting and full-bodied with a light pale ale character evident. Its nose has a berry sweetness.

Fox & Goose Beer Festival, Hebden Bridge. Clear gold with a bubbly head. Some hops, but mainly there’s a grainy-malt dominance in its character.

Cask @ Duck & Drake, Leeds. Very dark with a thick frothy head. Full-bodied but not as strong tasting as its percentage may suggest. There’s a light coffee aroma and taste that’s fuller in its lingering aftertaste that becomes chocolatey.

Cask @ The Waterhouse, Manchester. Golden-blonde with a small creamy head. Has plenty of hops and slightly dry in its texture and taste. Medium bodied with a fruitiness and lingers.
