3-5 Heathfield Industrial Estate, Heathfield Street, Elland, HX5 9AE, England
Description
Founded as ‘Eastwood and Sanders Fine Ales’ in 2002, after the amalgamation of The West Yorkshire Brewery and The Barge and Barrel Brewing Company, we renamed as Elland Brewery in 2006 and have been trading under that banner ever since.
We are proud to be a proper, independent, traditional micro-brewery. We’re a small team (currently ten and a half people!) and we’re involved in every aspect of running a busy brewery, we all get our hands dirty helping out in racking, delivering, filling the vans, cleaning, loading the spent grain for our local farmer Dickie to feed his cattle…you’d be surprised at what a normal day involves!

Cask, Gravity at Banbury Beer Festival, Oxon, 08-05-09 Pours very dark brown in fact almost black with a light beige head. There is some nuts and roasty malts coming off of this beer. Tasted a tiny bit nutty but the roasted malts were there as was some liquorice, good fruitiness throughout. A decent beer but far from the best in the Elland range. A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Cask gravity at Reading BF 09. Gold, no head. Hop and I thought butter on the aorma. Good hops through out, bit earthy, bit citrusy, some grapefruit, and a nice bite about the beer. It’s fullish and very drinkable.

Cask @ Volunteer Arms, GBBF 2008. Shared with the brewer Ken Fisher of the Grateful Deaf Brewing Society. Pours a pale amber color with a small white head. Has a sweetish malty slightly floral hoppy citrus aroma. Sweetish malty caramel flavor with some nice hoppy hints with some hints of pine needles. Has a slightly sweetish malty hoppy bitter finish with some piney and citrus hints in the aftertaste. Thanks for the hospitality and great tour of Porland you showed us in June!!

Cask handpull at The Wenlock Arms, London. Chestnut colour, lasting ivory head. Fresh on, decent malts, lovely, red fruits. OK balancing hop. Quite dry and sparkly. But this is about the red malts. Decent stuff, I like it. Like a proper Amerian red ale/amber ale. A bit like Laurelwood Organic Red, but English. Salty pork chops somewhere here. Bizarre and brilliant.
