33 cl bottle from Sterk @ home. Dark brown color. Light beige head that immediately disappears (was it my glass or the beer?). Aroma’s: nice soft bourbon, sweetness, vanilla, light wood, caramel. Retronasal it’s bourbon, sweet, vanilla, boozy, caramel fudge. Flavor is malty sweet, bourbon, boozy. Rather strong alcohol feel, but not too sharp. Medium bodied (could have been a bit chewier). Enough carbo (so perhaps it was my glass?). Long finish with sweetness, light wood, light bitterness. It’s not Sucaba, but I think it’s pretty good.

Hazy pale amber colour, average frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Aroma malts, orange, lemon, pine, resin. Taste medium sweet and bitter, grain, citrus, pine, lingering dry bitter aftertaste, spicy notes. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, solid IPA.

Slightly hazy pale amber colour, smaal frothy white head, recedes quickly, light lacing. Aroma toasted malts, grain, caramel, honey. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, grainy, light honey, caramel. Sweetbitter aftertaste, lingering toasted malts and bitter caramel. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, too toasted but decent.

Clear medium amber colour, tall frothy beige head, good retention, heavy lacing. Shy aroma, toasted malts, caramel, nuts, grass. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, burnt caramel. Sweetbitter aftertaste, roasted malts, light burnt caramel, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, decent amber ale.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 17 Sep 2016) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, smoky nose with notes of chocolate, coffee, black rye bread and some smoked ham. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark chocolate, black rye bread, a gentle smoke touch and a mild roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced, with a gentle smoke touch. Nice one.
